The Organizer was extremely rude. I was running behind the morning of the class and I couldn’t find the location, then when I got there, it was seemingly closed as I peered in the windows to check if anyone was there. I then wandered around the building and found a door where I hear something so I knocked a handful of times. Someone finally came to the door, the woman’s demeanor was very dismissive and unwilling to work with me. I was there 20 after, partially due to their failure to mark where they’d be located. I got upset because I really needed to complete the course and she was not being a nice person, so I did say something unkind when she started to shut the door in my face. I have never in my life said to anyone what I said to this woman, I’m typically very level headed and kind but I just couldn’t believe how rudely she was handling me. I then tried to call for a refund and was told by the very pleasant receptionist I could attend a different time/date, I attempted to do so and then the next day I was called and told that I could not attend the class and would not receive a refund even though I didn’t get to attend the class. There was no information that if you were late you couldn’t attend. I understand that punctuality is important and that the class I was attending is something that is mandatory ordered by the court, but that does not mean to be rude or unkind to the folks attending. I shouldn’t have returned this woman’s unkindness but I was angry with how she handled me and I do require a refund since I didn’t receive any service. And I apologize for calling you a “******* *****”, when you started to close the door in my face, again, I shouldn’t had said that. I do however suggest to anyone needing the defensive driving class to go to idrivesafely.com and pay $20 to complete the online course. My Lawyer ***** * ********* suggested this website instead of going through Private Probation.

Once an individual is registered for DDP, a book and certificate are purchased and I fill out the certificate prior to the class. A refund was not issued because supplies were purchased for you to complete the program and once you verbally assaulted the instructor, you were not offered a different program date. When you arrived late and then repeatedly banged on the door, you disrupted the program. I remove any signs indicating where the program is after 9:00am, to avoid the program being disrupted by individuals because they are late. If you had shown up to the program on time, you would not have been confused on where to enter. When I answered the door, my responses were short with you. I told you I could reschedule you for the December date and since you arrived after 9, and we have already begun, you would not be able to attend the program on that date. You insisted you had to attend on that date; which was not true because had you rescheduled to 12/04, you still would have completed prior to your next court date. I did not want to argue with you and needed to return to the program. The program starts at 9:00am, if you are late, you will have to reschedule. I had individuals who were sitting in that program who had to reschedule, so I don't think it would be fair of me to allow you to join in late, if I did not for them. Once you responded 'No, I can't reschedule and I will be attending this program today', I started to close the door because I felt uncomfortable from your response and the tone of your voice. As I was closing the door, you yelled 'you are a ******* ******. I have been instructing DDP for 8 years and never had anyone speak to me in that manner after showing up late to a program. There was no reason for us to go back and forth. You did not get the response you wanted and reacted in the manner you did. You are in control of yourself and that is the choice you made. I can not purchase and fill out a certificate for you and then give you a full refund because you showed up late and reacted the way you did when I offered to reschedule you. When you called to reschedule the following morning, the *** staff member you spoke to was unaware of the incident that occurred. Once that staff member was informed of the incident, she contacted you. *** will be making a change to how we handle DDP registration to hopefully avoid this situation from happening again. I have spoken to the staff and have asked that not only do they explain the program starts at 9am but to also remind individuals that since the program starts at 9am to be there by 9am because if they are late not only will they have to reschedule, it also disrupts the program and that is rude.
