I would give no stars. This location consistently overbills. I have two insurances and continue coming out omf hundreds and dollars. It can not be correct and each time you have to do the legwork of reaching out to insurance to verify. These stores have several similar complaints and a poor rating. Someone needs to investigate and shut them down.

We apologize for the frustration this patient has experienced. I show in our records that both insurances were used by this patient at the time of her visit to one of our locations. I have passed along her information to the District Manager of this office and someone will be in touch with her soon to clarify any questions she may have about her coverage and how her insurance was used for the matierls she purchased.

We apoliogize for this patient's experience and are happy to investigate but unfortunately are not able to locate a patient in our system with a name matching the one provided on this review. We encourge this patient to reach out directly to the manager of the location they had this experince with, or to our corporate offices at ************ ** *

I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with my glasses that I got from there they are progressive lenses which I have had before but the lenses are smears and very flimsy and they are just not the quality I expected my prior glasses. Which are not progressive are still way better than the ones I got from clarkston I am disabled and not able to go back out there as I have no transportation

We apologize for the experience that this patient has had. Upon chart review, it seems that the patient has already been in contact with the office and our company via facebook and our patient engagement center regarding her issues. The office has reached out to this patient to offer assistance but unfortunately without being able to triple check the prescription in the lenses as well as how the lenses sit on the paient's face to troubleshoot, we are unable to correct her issues remotely. We have notated this patient's chart as she mentioned that it is difficult for her to come in to the office and look forward to helping resolve her issues when he is able to come into the office and consult with an optician.

      Terrible service!
Inexperienced “techs”, zero supervision or accountability at the location on N. Hwy 67 in the greater St. Louis area.
I had eye exams and purchased frames on 4.12.23. The following day I called to say I would like to come in to select a different pair of frames.
I selected a lower priced pair of frames. I was not immediately refunded the difference in costs for the new frames.
For the past three weeks, I have gotten the runaround about whether the location or a 3rd party billing company will issue the refund. In addition, I was actually overcharged for the initial visit.
As of 5.8.23, charges to my credit card have not been refunded AND I do not have my eyeglasses.

We apologize for the frustration that you had at our location in **********. Typically all orders placed in our computer system sync to our lab within one hour of competion at the office. It is quite possible that the glasses placed on order the day before were already being customized to the measurements and prescription indicated on the order. In this instance, the office would have called the lab to see if a cancellation of the order would be possible so that the office could change the order based upon the patient's wishes. As lenses are customized not only to the patient but also to the frame the patient selects in office, the lenses that were started would need to be discarded as they cannot be used for anyone else and the company absorbs this cost as a curtosey to the patient, rather than charge the patient twice for lenses. This feedback regarding your experience will be passed on to the manager of the location who will reach out to you with a resolution for your order and to address your concerns regarding your office visit. We appreciate the feedback as we are always looking to improve processes and patient experiences in our locations.

***** ********* **, St. Louis, MO Clarkson Eye Care - Dr. ****** (and everyone we have encountered at this office) is awesome. My 5yo wears glasses, we got them shortly after he turned three at another office but the difference in how they treat my son is incredible. Dr. ****** always talks directly to my son and has a variety of workarounds (shapes if they don't know all the letters, asking them to trace the number if they don't know that number, etc). We also had an issue with a lost lens and the office was really helpful getting everything squared away!

No customer service. My son has been getting his eye exams there for about 10 years. In an emergency situation occurred where his contact ripped and his prescription had just expired. After explaining the entire situation to them they scheduled an appointment the next day. When he appeared for his appointment they turned him away saying that their employee booked the wrong type of appointment and they could not see him. They refused to try and work in him and could not provide another appointment sooner than 6 days. Unable to drive to his workplace until he could receive a new contact he was forced to get an appointment at another eyecare institution. So sad an institution cares so little about a long term customer. My family will not be returning and will highly advise others to avoid this institution al well.

We apologize for the frustration that this patient experienced. This will be sent to the District Manager of the location to address with the staff. Unfortunately the patient in questions is not a minor and does not have anyone listed on the consent form in his chart to have access to his record so we will not be able to comment further other than to say we encourage the patient to reach out to us at his convience so that we may assist.

I took my daughter's 1st prescription for eye glasses to Clarkson Eyecare in **********. They stated the glasses would be ready in 10 days. On day 10, I call to check the status and was told the frames were on backorder but were now in stock and will ship the following week. I called Friday the following week and the person said the exact same thing the previous person told me. How long was this going to go on? Why didn't anyone offer to let my daughter pick in stock frames? I received a refund but had to wait several days for the claim to be reversed from insurance. They never provided any alternative options. No one even apologized. Corporate did not return my phone call or email. I see someone comments on these reviews telling clients to contact corporate but they don't answer or return your call. No one was concerned for my very young daughter's health. So disappointing! I found another company that does care and will be sharing my experience with others.

We apologize for the frustrations that you had while waiting for your daughter's order to come into the office. Unfortunately sometimes backorders with our vendors do happen and can cause delays which are out of our control. Someone from the office should have contacted you to inform you of the delay and offered you the options to either come into the office to pick another frame or to wait for the frame from the vendor. We are happy that the office was able to accommodate your request for a refund, but they should also have explained to you that claim correction and/or reversal can sometimes take several days depending on the insurance company so that you were informed of the timeline. We have forwarded your complaint as well as our response to the District Manager of this location who will use your situation as a training tool for use in this office. We thank you for your feedback and are happy that you were able to get your daughter taken care of!

I've been going to Clarkson Eyecare for years but never again. I went in for my yearly eye exam which is covered by vision insurance. They always ask for my health insurance card which I always tell the front desk person that my health insurance does not cover anything. I go back for my pre-exam and the lady tells me tells me to place my head in the machine for eye photos. I asked her if it cost anything and she said it was free. I told her it has never been free in the past. I asked if she was sure and she looked down at the sheet and again stated it was free. In the past, I would pay for the photos every other year and would pay out of pocket about $27 dollars. I get to the front to pay for contacts/co-pay and the front desk worker asked about the eye photos and was told not to add it. Low and behold, they charged my health insurance and I had to pay $69. This is a deceptive practice. I contacted billing at Clarkson but they said. They couldn't do anything about it but take off $25 because they sent it to my health insurance.

We apologize for the issues that this patient has had in regards to the bill she recieved. Upon review of the patient's chart, the photos were billed medically for reasons the doctor explained on the exam sheet in the patient's chart and that we are happy to discuss with the patient. Leadership over this location will be reaching out to the patient to explain the charges and the reasoning for billing to the medical insurrance.

Took my aunt for a post surgery check up, her appointment was at 10:20 a.m., we did not leave there until 1:30 p.m. This is the second time we've had to wait. The last time was over two hours. This is ridiculous! The place was packed, some people were standing. Elderly people may not be able to sit or stand for that long, but they don't care. The front office staff are rude and could care less. If you cannot get your patient in and out withn an hour then don't schedule so many people! I would never recommend this facility, ever!

We apologize for the experience that this patient had while visiting one of our offices. Unfortunately at this time we are unable to research this patient's claims because the person who submitted this review has no chart in our system and additionally provided no information about the patient they are referencing. We are happy to help in any way possible if this patient is willing to call our corporate office at ************. We will not be able to discuss patient treatment unless the complaintant is the patient herself or is identified as someone whom the patient has appointed as an agent of records, however we are willing to make contact with the patient if we are provided more information regarding the patient.
