I am not overstating this when I say Lorentz Bus Service sabotaged our daughters wedding. They sent us a contract for two buses on a Friday afternoon 8 days before the wedding. The contract said school buses when it should have read coaches so we contacted them to ask about that. They were not open on Saturday or Sunday and answered our question on Monday morning. However, at that point we were informed they no longer had any buses available! I guess they required us to accept the wrongly worded contract in the two or three hours after they sent it on Friday, even if it was wrong, or they would cancel our deal. This is a horrible way of doing business! It is particularly horrible when you do not tell us you needed an answer on Friday. After this I wouldnt trust Lorentz for any transportation services much less something as important as a wedding.

Have you ever looked into booking an airline ticket or hotel reservation, asked a series of questions, done more research, and then later found out the flight or hotel was sold out as you didnt move quick enough to make the reservation? That is what happened here. Our service is subject to availability. ****** wife first reached out to us on 8/10/22 at 10:56 AM via the Knot.com to book wedding service for 8/20/22. Her message to us was Hello My daughters wedding planner did not book a shuttle service for the wedding party or my guests. I know its last minute. At the time she reached out, we had availability to cover the service; however, like any business with a limited inventory, this is consistently shifting. We promptly provided her a quote on Wednesday, and she asked a few questions and asked us to make adjustments to it over the next couple days, which we did. ***** was very thorough and asked a number of good questions as she was trying to figure out the best way to set up shuttle service (and she had a short window to work with.) It is true that she received her final adjustment to the quote paperwork on Friday 8/12/22, and she knew that she needed to make a deposit and return the paperwork in order to have a firm reservation and get a confirmation form from us. She told our sales rep that she would review the paperwork with her husband over the weekend and get back to us (our reservations department is not open on the weekend.) Our sales rep had no advanced knowledge that we would sell out prior to them doing so. I believe she did ask some questions over the weekend and on 8/15, she reached out further inquiring about if she could pay the deposit via check instead of card in order to confirm the booking, which is outlined in our terms and conditions. At that point, our sales rep checked in with our dispatch team and found out we no longer had availability for the upcoming weekend. While we understand it must be frustrating to have this happen, we would like to point out that many clients reserve their buses up to 2 years in advance. We made best efforts to help this client, but how would we be able to forecast exactly when they would have needed to finalize their reservation to guarantee availability? Our service operates on a first come, first serve basis, and in this case, it just didnt move fast enough within the short time period they had. The client who ended up booking our bus service before they could do so had been working on it for several weeks with a different sales rep in our company, but its common that many folks who inquire dont end up using a shuttle service. We did not intentionally sabotage them whatsoever.

From where I sit your hotel comparison is not a good one. This is more like the airlines overbooking a flight because they want to make sure it is 100% full and then turning people away from the plane because they do not have room. You sent out two contracts for the same buses at the same time! In both cases it is not illegal but the ethics are very questionable. This is not about how long ago our wedding planner should have contacted you. It is also not about two parties negotiating or asking questions. Theres no problem working with two groups then. But when it reaches the stage of sending out a contract it is ethical to work with whoever was in line first and give them a reasonable amount of time to review it and make sure everything is correct before signing and make the agreement final. If you had already sent a contract to the other group, you could have just let us know and we would have started looking for another company immediately. Instead, like the airlines, you overbooked the buses and left us sitting with no transportation for about 80 people with an 80 mile round trip to our venue. Like the airlines, you can also say it is not illegal. That does not, however, make it right.

In our industry, the "contract" is an order confirmation form, and you never received that. We send our general terms and conditions with every single quote as it outlines the fuel surcharge, gratuity, and all other things you'd need to know in order to make a booking. If you go back to the first email between ***** and *******, you'll see that those terms are attached to the very first email along with the quote. If you had received a confirmation form, paid the deposit, i'd agree with your statement. However, you didn't attempt to lock things in until Monday, and at that point, it was too late.
