    We purchased a water softener from haferman in 2019. When purchasing the water softener we were given the option to rent or finance. The salesman said if you chose to rent it would go to the purchase price. At the time take the lower payment made sense and pay it off down the line. Fast forward 5 years later paying 80 dollars a month figured it was getting close to being paid off as it was 4689.00 at the time we Installed it. I asked for the pay off knowing we already paid $4800 I figured it would be under 1000 to close it out and they wanted another $4000 dollars more to pay it off. I tried to talking with the salesman explaining The only reason we chose to rent was because he said the rent would go towards the purchase price. He said a portion does. But now in order to pay it off I’m gonna spend 8-9k in total. They never replied to my last email. Water softener worked great, salespeople and customer service are horrible.

    I purchased my home seven years ago, and the previous owners had installed a Haferman water softener the same year. After seven years, the equipment started leaking, so I contacted Haferman to check on the warranty. I was informed that the warranty was only five years and that they could send the unit in for evaluation.
    The service technician informed me that I would need to pay a service call fee and a down payment for them to take the equipment in for assessment. I paid $434 for the evaluation and service charge. When I questioned the service charge—especially as a loyal customer choosing to have them repair their own equipment—the representative on the phone was dismissive and rude, stating, “We are a business, and we need to make money too.”
    I understand that equipment fails over time, but I would have expected some consideration for returning to them for service. Additionally, I would have expected a water softener from a reputable company like Haferman to last longer than just seven years before leaking and needing costly repairs.
    I also travel for work, so when the technician came on a Monday, I specifically requested an update before Friday. He assured me that wouldn’t be a problem. However, I didn’t hear back for over ten days and was only contacted while I was on the road. At that point, they informed me they had identified the problem and that repairs would cost another $400–$500.
    Additionally, while disassembling the unit, the technician mentioned that when he opened a valve, a rubber component broke. Why should I be responsible for paying for damage that occurred during their inspection?
    This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Due to the lack of customer service, delayed communication, and additional unexpected costs, I will not be using Haferman again in the future.

    I had a very good experience with Haferman. They were prompt and courteous. They installed a system which greatly enhanced drinking water quality and they explained everything about the system to me in a way that I could understand.

    I called to let them know my father (who has their system) had passed away and that the system was not properly functioning.Their response was that I must sign a 1 yr contract before they could look at the system and to send me a $235 bill. Why would I sign a contract I have no information on for a non functioning system?? Come get your crap out of my dead father’s house.

We understand how difficult this time can be, and we are truly sorry for the frustration caused during your recent interaction with our team.The system in the home was under a rental agreement, which includes maintenance and support throughout the term of the contract. Our **************** Team was explaining the need to have it transferred over for service to continue. We're grateful that we were able to connect and resolve the issue. We apologize if this process was not clearly communicated or if it added undue stress during an already challenging time.

    I was quoted $144.00 plus cost of filters to have them changed. Testing was apparently done without my consent or desire, which raised my bill $60.00. I called to request a refund to no avail. It is unethical for a company to charge for services not agreed to, and their customers need to be aware that they have no problem taking advantage of service calls.

    We appreciate the opportunity to have been able to service your system. We apologize for the confusion as charges and services provided were explained on the phone call and agreed to prior to service. We also provide a breakdown of charges over email before the service call is performed. With all service calls we provide a water test to confirm that the system is working properly. The $60 was for labor for the services requested. Our service pricing structure has not changed in over a decade.

    Professional, respectful and fast service. No sales pressure and everything delivered, installed and performing just as promised. Our *****, smelly water is now clean, clear and tasty. Even the ice cubes have improved! Highly recommend.

    We purchased the Kinetico system for our new home & are very happy with the results. Before the system was installed, my husband tasted the water (in line filter was installed by plumber before we moved in); he dumped the water out because it was terrible.
    After the Kinetico system was installed & in line filter removed, water is great, ice is almost clear & we really enjoy drinking our water.
    We would recommend Kinetico to everyone!
