I started looking for a golden and stumbled upon the Golden ************** page. We purchased a dog from GR. She potty trained quickly using the breeders advice, crate trained no problem and never chewed one thing in our house. Now the bad part. I have spent thousands of dollars on vet bills and on grooming for *****. About a month into her being with us, we realized she had a skin problem. I called the breeder and she says oh no big deal, just get her this supplement, feed her a good food - goldens are prone to this. So I take the advice but nothing changes. She needs special shampoo and frequent grooming. We love her. We will not return her we say. I am on the ***************** when I see a post from another owner - they have a dog with the same parents as my dog but from a different litter - and their dog has the same skin issue. They do testing on their dog. It has ichthyosis, a genetic disorder. The owner calls the breeder out and says why dont you do genetic testing on your dogs before breeding? She says she does buthow can that be true? Fast forward to 2023 and my ***** is almost six and she has a seizure. The vet diagnoses her with epilepsy because nothing else is wrong with her internal organs and her bloodwork was great. So now I have a dog that is seizing multiple times a day and has to go on seizure meds daily for the rest of her life. I call the breeder and she could not be more belligerent. How dare I suggest it is HER greed and choices that have left wounded dogs and heartbroken owners? Now to today, ***** was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I want to cry. Please do your research before buying any dog and heed the warnings of others that have gone before you.

From:BBB serving Eastern *************, *****, ************ and ******* Subject:BBB: Business Did Not Respond to Your Complaint This notification is in regards to your complaint submitted on 10/30/2023 against Goldenridge Kennels, LLC. Complaint # ********.BBB has closed complaint #******** as No Response from the Business.Unfortunately Goldenridge Kennels, LLC did not respond to your complaint ##********. BBB can't force the business to respond to this complaint and BBB has closed the complaint as No Response. This complaint will be publicly reported on the business's BBB Business Profile for 36 months.Complaint Details We purchased a dog from a local breeder, returned the dog that same week and they are refusing to refund. The attorney I spoke to recommended we start with BBB to report as we now have not received any of our money back and do not have a dog from the breeder. The discounted puppy we purchased was extremely skittish and scared, peeing frequently, and reactive- more so than any dog we have ever had over the years. Growling at our 5 year old daughter and mother in law and trying to take food away. Bearing teeth, barking, and growling. We asked Due to how this has impacted our family we would hope you would consider taking her back so she can find the right home and we would suggest one potentially without younger children, as she is still quite reactive. She has been so afraid of common noises shell jump over furniture to get away from a basket being dropped on the ground or picking up and putting down a cup as an example. " This was not including the additional health concerns we had with the dog not using its back legs and dragging them behind them. We paid $500 deposit- then $3192.50 cash upon pick up.Desired Outcome/Settlement Desired Settlement: Refund None Provided

Ive been working at Goldenridge Kennels for almost a year in a half and wouldnt want to work anywhere else. ******* and ****** are great people to work for and I really appreciate everything they have done for me. ******* and ****** have had the business for more than 30 years and have been super successful in what they do. The kennel is inspected by the town and state yearly. If they saw that the dogs werent being treated right or it was overcrowded they wouldve shut the kennel down. ******************** has shown up unannounced and the kennel passed with flying colors on more than one occasion . The reports are on the website if youre interested. We have a vet that comes in a couple times a month to make sure ALL animals at our kennel are happy and healthy. Most of the negative comments are from people who havent stuck around for more than a month or so. Working at goldenridge you get two 10 minute breaks and a 30 minute break for lunch. In total thats 50 minutes that you have a break. Not sure where the I didnt even get a break came from For most jobs you dont get to sit around and play. You actually have to do work. My job isnt coming and playing with the puppies all day, its cleaning up after the dogs and making sure they are in a Clean environment and have all the things that they need to be healthy and happy.Misinformation is being spread and I wanted to give my point of view, for I am still working here and love my job.

Awful people to work for!! OVER breeding for sure going on there. How do you continue to have litters when you dont sell all of the other litters first. ******* is an insensitive, vindictive, person who doesnt care about employees. Is all she sees are dollar signs while she OVER BREEDS!!! Poor dogs have no social interaction. Other than when employees are cleaning and feeding. Youre not allowed to have free / play time with them. She would know if that happen because she has cameras everywhere. Being sure her employees are doing their job. Dogs dont belong in kennels their entire life. Or till they get sold if they get sold. If you are a kind hearted person who loves dogs DO NOT WORK HERE!! Anyone can make a business look perfect trough picture. They show you what they want you to see. Once ******* sees this post. She will try and and have it deleted. Because it shows her TRUE colors.

Do NOT do business with this breeder. She doesnt care about the dogs or her employees. She doesnt let her employees have time off, or let them call out for any reason. She thinks the entire world revolves around her. Her husband is a creep, not only does he make inappropriate sexual comments to his female workers, but when these issues are brought up she always blames the employee for being too sensitive. This is the most toxic workplace, and they are both horrible people.
