  I went to see ****** at L& R motors based on recommendations from a close friend (a family member of ******'s) and a family member of mine. My friend and family members told me that ****** was not your normal salesman, he really cares about people and their situations. He goes through every vehicle very thoroughly. I purchased a 2015 highlander with over ******* miles on it. He told me he bought this vehicle from an auction because after the owner had new brakes, tires, rotors done, the dealership convinced her to trade it in. 60 days after purchase we have a hot day in April and the a/c doesn't work. I contacted ****** and he told me it probably needs to be charged. The shop said the a/c hose is hanging. I contacted ****** and he said that no one checks the A/C in the winter. He is sorry for my inconvenience. He let me know he was at least willing to give me advice and that stuff happens with cars. He said he took money off the vehicle and gave me a good deal. It's not a good deal if I have to pay to get a new key fob and pay $700 for the A/C. He advertised that the vehicle had front/rear a/c and was not willing to help with the repair. This week my brakes locked up and I almost rear ended someone. I drove to the dealership and I paid $80 for them to look at it. I explained who I got the vehicle from and how the owner had work done then traded it in. The dealership let me know that this was not true at all. They had the vehicle's whole service history. It did NOT have new brakes, rotors, and tires put on. It was sent to auction, ***** bought it then had an inspection done. They gave me a $500 estimate, my vehicle is not drivable, and they cannot fix it for 3 weeks. I have had the vehicle 4 months and spent $1,500 already. ****** may have be pleasant but he is not thorough. If you are buying from here, take the vehicle somewhere else to be looked at first.
