  This review is long overdue. I was so angry and needed time. We hired **** for siding, windows and new doors in 2021. He took a half down deposit from us and the fight began. Work was supposed to start in the summer 2021 but it did not. After chasing him for far to long we came to the conclusion that he had no intention of doing any of the work. We began the long fight and we're able to bring felony theft charges against him along with three other families. He plead innocent until jail time was on the table. The justice system worked for us, we were all paid back.The worst part of all of this is he is still stealing people's money!!! I have been contacted by two families just this week asking for any advice we can give them. My advice DON'T GIVE UP!!!! He has to be stopped!!!! He is a criminal!!!

  ***************** Stevens is a habitual liar. He took our deposit on 4/15/23 to replace our window and 19 windows. The roof quote was 3-4 weeks from 4/15/23 and was never completed until the end of September. In the middle of October an article came out specifying that he had defrauded over 6 people and had to pay over $62k in restitution. **** finally return our call after multiple, double digit, attempts and said he was too far behind this year. We asked for our money back since the quote he gave us was ***** weeks and it has already been 28 weeks as of 11/2/2023! He said now he was stuck with the windows but he would return our money. The next day I called the window company and they couldnt find our order so i contacted **** for the order number. He never placed our order and used our $10k deposit to repay his victims. I have contacted my lawyer and the Asst ** in Kennebec county, who was astounded how quickly **** was able to repay the debt! Please dont use Stevens Siding and Windows - you will be defrauded! I have many more details and text messages but I a limited by the number of characters in this post!

  I had offered to return their deposit with no problems, what I had said to them that I had been stuck with windows from some other customers.  I didn't say there's were one of them and that I could return them their money. They also said when we did their roof, we ripped their canopy on the back deck, saying it was brand new.  I ask for the invoice from the company they bought it from so that I could order a new cover.  They never gave it to me.  I did tell them, that because of people like them, I do wait to order windows until it's close to being installed so that I don't get stuck with anymore windows.

  We hired Stevens to re-roof our house a number of years ago with IKO 30 year shingles. It looked great when done but then shingles began coming loose and falling off on an annual basis. Stevens was responsive at first and came out and repaired them. Now they tell me they will send someone out, but it never happens after multiple calls. I end up fixing them myself. Very dissatisfied.

  My husband and I entered into a contract with Jake ********************** in August 2021 to replace the windows in our home and paid a substantial deposit of $17,100, with the promise of work to begin in November 2021. Mr. ********************** did not show ** in November nor did he contact us with an update on the project. He did not return most telephone calls. We struggled to get him to agree to begin work by January 4, but he again did not appear for work nor call with an update. In January 2022 we agreed to rescind our work contract and for him to return our deposit. Despite many phone calls and visits to his office, he did not return our deposit, saying he did not have the money. In March 2022 he returned $7,100 and promised to remit the remainder by April 30. He did not meet that signed agreement either. In May, we were able to pick up $5,000 and in June, the final $5,000. Each payment was only after many telephone conversations and pleading with him make his business honest. His dishonesty and disregard for signed agreements have made us leery of doing business with contractors in this area. It is possible that his building acumen is substantial; we will never know. We searched for BBB guidance last year and found no complaint, and believe that others should know about his inability to live to a contract and about his broken promises that have caused us so much grief.

  It's true that I enter into a contract with her husband ***********************, but when ********* got involved, my desire to move forward diminished. I keep thinking maybe I should to the project, but the more ********* got involved the less that was going to happen. I let them cancel the project and gave them back their deposit.
