  I best describe my overall experience as "Jacked and Robbed". We initially met with **** ***** for the estimate and he immediately made us feel comfortable and confident that Maryland Decking was ethical. We later found out that was a false pretense. Once we accepted the quote and moved forward paying the deposit, we were told it could be a couple weeks for the permits to be approved through the County. About a week later, we received an email from *** ****** with the material delivery and start dates. The entire time it was implied that permits were in hand and all work to be performed was approved by Anne Arundel County, MD. On day 2 of the build, we received an "anonymous" harassing complaint regarding the project having no permits displayed on the job site. What should have been a very simple correction by the Maryland Decking leadership (*** ****** Project manager) to produce "the permit" alleviating this issue, instead brought to light, that NO PERMITS WERE OBTAINED or applied for regarding our project. I cannot express my level of shock and disappointment that this "Veteran" owned Company with 5 Stars ratings could set themselves up like this and allow their paying customer to have to settle for "less than" regarding their end state. An outsider was able to impede on the customers wishes and alter the agreed upon project results. I am now stuck with a fence that I would have never embarked upon knowing that I could not achieve the end result of privacy. I was "taken for a ride" by Maryland Decking and I would like to warn all potential future customers that they look great on the surface, but deep down they lack the protocol to conduct proper business. I lost 11K.

  This company installed a **** rain escape system and built a screened in patio under our deck. The rain escape was installed incorrectly so there are leaks. Additionally when it pours the gutter overflows and water floods on to the soffit ceiling with electrical. We sent a video of water pouring out of the ceiling and they did not respond. They do not honor their one year workmanship warranty that they advertise on their website. Their CEO was on our email with the video of water flooding out of the soffit ceiling and we heard nothing from them. This company does not care about customer satisfaction or quality control. Please downgrade the BBB rating.

  I don't recommend this company unless you want to spend time dealing with all the issues/confusions, stress out yourself, and waste your hard earned money. We recently had 2 contracts with Maryland Decking, for the driveway gate and patio in our yard. It came out with a 32 ft gate for our 22 ft wide driveway, it extends to my neighbor's driveway when it's fully open and cannot be fully closed either. Regarding the patio, we just noticed it's not meeting our expectations right before the installation and the description was not in the contract. The patio manager said that we will get our deposit of $3,300 fully refunded if we decide not to move forward. I asked him 3 times and he all said that yes, their company is not going to hold our money if we decide not to do it. However, the office manager said it's not refundable if it's a cancellation of contract. We read the contract carefully, it did NOT mention about not refundable due to cancellation. We believe the patio manager can represent their company, so Maryland Decking should give our deposit back for the cancellation due to not meeting our expectations and fixing the issue of TOO long gate. Being a customer without the knowledge in this area, we have the right to receive all the descriptions and clear communication in writing to ensure fully understanding but we did not receive it.
