    I had a water penetration into my basement in January 2024 where the water main came in. We called AA Action and they sent a person out. He immediately said the only repair is to dig down outside the house and install a membrane to repair the leak. Knowledgeable person. We were told a two week wait initially which was concerning but they found a slot less than a week after the quote. They said two day job, but the soil near the leak was not frozen and they got it done in one day. Disturbingly, they discovered the home builder had installed a PVC pipe into the exterior basement wall to feed the water main for the house into. Hydrostatic pressure from heavy rains forced water through the PVC pipe since it wasn't sealed to the water main resulting in penetration around the pipe. That area in my home has always been damp. So the team cut the PVC pipe flush the exterior wall and applied the membrane. Then they added a protective board and applied membrane to that. Filled and tamped the dirt. Put back the flagstones we had in place. Basement is now less damp, no water coming in. They even replanted a shrub they had to dig up to do the job. All in the cold weather.
