    In July 2021, I hired Raymond K*******, a contractor I had previously entrusted with a deck project, to finish my basement. This decision was based on my satisfaction with his earlier work. After receiving a quote of $27,500 from Ray, I secured the necessary funds from my Thrift Savings Plan (401K) to commence the renovation. Ray promptly began working on the plan and securing permits from Charles County.
    However, the project has been fraught with inconsistencies. Ray's work has been sporadic; he started the project but repeatedly stopped. My basement, including the garage, is now cluttered with bags of trash, debris, uninstalled hardwood flooring, and framing wood, rendering the garage unusable. This has left me uncertain about the completion status of the project and the quality of the materials.
    The delays and lack of progress have been frustrating, and due to inflation, the cost of completing the basement has quadrupled. I am now faced with the additional burden of hiring a new contractor to finish the work.

    I would give this company zero stars if I could. Kingwood was supposed to perform a service for me within a month of being paid on April 26, 2023. On the day that he was supposed to do the job, he did not show up. I texted him after waiting for 1 hour, and he did not respond or make an effort to reach out. I called him two days later, and he gave me an excuse, and still never gave me a date of when he was coming to do the job I paid for. He was supposed to buy a pump for me with the money i gave him and hook up my hair washing bowl for my salon. He ran off with my money and now I have not heard from him after 4 months. Immature and unprofessional. Lack of communication! Stay clear and save your money!
