We purchased solar panels from American Sentry Solar, but American Design and Build is listed on our solar contract. The salesman told us that we could pay off our 25 year variable loan in 8 years if we put all incentives back into the loan. That was the first untruth. In order to pay it off in 11 years, we have to put back all incentives AND include an additional monthly principal payment of $100. The second untruth we were told is that the solar loan would replace our *** bills for most of the year. The salesman said that we would only pay *** bills a few times per year (during the colder months) for about $50 per bill, but that was also not true. He asked to see copies of our utility bills to see our usage, yet the $50 quoted has never occurred; twice this year we had a bill of $9.43. When I contacted them to ask them to make it right, they wanted us to wait a year for them to install addtional free panels, but the bills had already been way over what we were told, we also had the loan, and winter was coming. We allowed a man from the company to come to our home and perform an energy assessment. He changed a setting in our hot water heater, but everything else was ok. In fact, we lowered our thermostat temperature this year to cut down on costs, didn't even turn our heat on until November, and for two weeks this year, no one was home during the day. Our *** bills are still way more than what we were quoted. They agreed to give us 4 solar panels free of charge because I insisted; they later replaced two of them because they were defective. The additional panels haven't made any noticeable difference. Our system has been up and running since April of 2024 and since that time we have paid over $1300 to ***. Our most recent *** bill was almost $500, the one prior was almost $200. This is a far cry from the $50 that we were told.

When designing systems, we use historical energy usage to project energy production and savings. However, factors such as changes in consumption, weather variability, and utility rate fluctuations can impact actual results.
With that said, we’ve gone so far as giving you additional panels for no cost, when the system was working as expected without issues. These additional panels were installed in early winter, and then we experienced back-to-back snowstorms and record low temperatures.
As we’ve explained repeatedly, your specific usage patterns have increased significantly since our first meetings, but you will be overproducing in the spring months, which will cover the bills next winter.
There are times, however, when extreme weather events including snow and record cold temperatures can reduce production and increase usage.Review fromAudra D

We were having a problem with our screen door. Appointment was scheduled in a reasonable amount of time. The technician did a great job fixing the screen roller and the door knob. Their lifetime warranty is the best considering we’ve had our door for years.Review fromElizabeth C

It was so nice to have such an efficient and pleasant person to come and quickly work on my sliding screen door. He was very helpful and kind and knew his job perfectly. In today’s world, it is so wonderful to find somebody that knows their job so well and knows how to deal with whatever comes up and how to quickly fix things. Bel Air, Maryland - So, I have gotten 5 estimates for solar panels for my home. I decided to go with American sentry solar because the estimate process was straight forward, they answered all my questions and did a good job at explaining the County/State/Federal Solar incentives that would apply to my project (plus they are local to me). The project was quick and again straight forward. This is the timeline of my project: 09/22/23- Started the paperwork- contract/permit/Loan etc. 10/04/23- Site planning visit- (electric panel and roofing system inspection) 10/25/23- System Install – Took about 4 hours – (The crew was outstanding) 10/31/23- Local Government (County Permit Inspection) 11/15/23- Power Company updated power meter to be compatible with the system. 11/16/23- System in full Operation I like being able to see what the system is producing to include the system status and what each solar panel is producing with the Enphase enlighten App. Now the wait to see the effects to my energy bill begins and I will update in the future. Overall, I’m very happy with the whole project and would recommend the American sentry solar team.Review fromCharles D

If I could leave lower than 1 star I would. Don’t trust anything this company says. They told me I’d get an $8,000 rebate and it looks like I get nothing. So they scammed me out of $8k.Review fromDeborah K

This is a company that uses aggressive sales tactics to pressure you into signing an overpriced contract. I received a quote for 35k for a 6.4 KwH system. After doing additional research, my other quotes were for 22k from different companies for the same exact size system, and it had higher quality panels and better warranties. I would not recommend this company. They were also very unprofessional and dodgy when I went through my legal process of cancelling my contract.American Design & Build, LTD.

We are extremely pleased with the service, support and installation of our solar panels. They handled everything from the permits, inspections, intalls, to scheduling and meeting the inspectors. When they said they were going to be here they were. The day they installed the panels they conducted the install and cleaned all the trash and debris up, so much so that if I hadnt looked on the roof I wouldnt of know they were even here. EVERYONE was extremely professional and easy to work with. We would recommend them again, as well as use them for future projects. Excellent company and team.American Design & Build, LTD.

I am extremely happy with my roof installation. They were professional, courteous, on time and very accommodating - I have two large dogs that needed access to my yard during this process - and they made sure that my double gate was always shut and secure and gave them time to use the yard. The crew was wonderful from start to finish - and the clean-up - they did not leave even a tiny piece of debris or nails on my property, I will use them again and recommend them to anyone needing their services.American Design & Build, LTD.

Love this company and how their sales guy Tom A*** helped us from start to finish on our siding! He provided a nice selection to choose from and made the financing options at 0% a no brainer for us. We will be calling on them again soon for our new front door!American Design & Build, LTD.
