Hired company to remove a pair of props of my boat. The diver took a hammer or some other tool an beat the props off ,causing more damage than there was when I pulled the boat to check the bottom after a grounding. They lied to me saying then didn’t do . No apology? I took pictures of props before diver took them off, made a small job into a major repair.

In business you always experience customers who love telling only their side of the story and it's sad. In addition, we don't care about reviews these days. They are only used to try and get a reaction from children. We called this customer and attempted to discuss, but he was not interested in having a conversation, but rather yelling at us. In addition, there would be no additional cost during his prop refinishing which he was already having done. Here is the email we sent since he hung up on us. But hey, places like the BBB don't actually care, they try to make a profit convincing businesses to submit to their BS to hold off complaints.
Since you were not interested in having a conversation with me, but instead felt like telling me how it is, I figured I would follow up with you so that you do not confuse anything.
First, I am the owner of this company and we have been working on recreational boats as divers since around 2002. As such I can confidently state that I have far more experience than you or your slip mates when it comes to underwater hull and boat maintenance. This is why you reached out to us to do the job. In fact, we are so popular that you saw we had to push your job a few times to accommodate all the work we do.
    Second,
When props are to be removed underwater, we are limited to the tools available to accomplish the task. Those who are experienced mariners understand that the task to remove props underwater certainly differs from topside, namely the inability to use heat to expand the metal to loosen the prop and lack of footing for support. We use walter prop pullers to remove props or threaded prop pullers for larger vessels. Your vessel required the use of a Walter 2N prop puller. This is made for 4 blade props up to 28". We place the prop puller and then sequentially tighten the bolts until they can no longer be tightened by hand. This is when the use of a metal mallet comes into play. We most definitely hit the props in order to shock them as to release them from the keyway. There was a comment made about a large 3' pipe wrench. Yes, that is used for leverage to remove the prop nuts and possibly tighten the bolts, but is pretty worthless as a hammer.
The end result is a prop that is removed that definitely has hammer marks on the leading face of the blade. These marks are always cleaned up in the basic prop reconditioning performed by ****** ****** ********* (the leading prop shop in the area). We've NEVER had a single customer complain at the end of the prop reconditioning. Your props leading edges were not touched. They already had nicks in them from you reportedly running aground.
Aside from you seeing the marks on the props, I'm not sure why this is an issue as these will all be completely gone when ****** ****** finishes with them at no add on charge to do so.
Happy to answer any more questions, but I realize you've taken the approach that we know nothing and are lying to you. Despite the fact that we are the only dive company that has been operating continuously in the area for over 20 years. We must be REALLY good at lying to have faked it that long.
