I had a very bad experience in my interactions with the manager of Wayland Mobile on Friday, June 28. I dropped off my car for brake line leak repair. The manager called me and quoted a price of $295 (for replacing the brake line) and I agreed. Two hours later he called to let me know that he must use three compression Grippers for $30 ($10 each). I also agreed to this extra cost. Then he texted me a picture of my front driver-side tire, which was in very bad shape. He said that I should replace this tire immediately because it is not safe. This was not a sudden issue. The picture showed that one side of the tire was severely worn down tot he extent that the tire threads were visible (photo available). I told him that I had brought the car to his shop four weeks earlier for inspection and they should have caught this defect. He said that he was not working that day and that the worker that did the inspection is not longer working for them. My first complaint about this shop is that they should have done a better job of inspecting my car. By missing this defective tire they put my family at risk. (unethical)An hour later he called me again to tell me that it is taking more time to replace my brake lines than he had expected, and I should pay more. When I refused he got angry and repeatedly said "Respectfully, don't come to my shop ever again." Two hours later another employee called me to let me know that the car was ready and bill was $369. When I went to get my car the invoice was $434. I asked the cashier to call the manager. The manager said that he had changed the invoice. Then he got angry and repeatedly said "I don't want to see your face ever again." He told the cashier "Let him pay any amount and get him out of my shop. " I paid the full ($434) amount. I was respectful and he had no right to insult me. When he agrees to a fixed price for a standard service he should not charge more. Owner please take notice! (photo, invoice available.)
