    If you're considering a whole home backup generator, please learn from my mistakes.
    I purchased a backup generator and had a local electrician install it. The transfer box was wired in reverse. Entergy said we were lucky not to have had a house fire!.
    We called GoGEN. *** ****** came out with a three-man team to assess this issue and examined the installation. *** found that not only was it wired incorrectly, but the generator was positioned too close to a window and that it wouldn't pass inspection. *** said he'd handle everything moving forward.
    GoGEN made arrangements with Entergy to turn off power, then the generator was moved to comply with the city's guidelines, then the plumber rerouted the gas line, then GoGEN rewired the generator and the transfer switch, had the city inspector sign off on their work, and had Entergy restore power to our home. GoGEN did all of this in one day including moving the concrete slab that the generator sat upon!
    I did some background on GoGEN and found that the ****** family has been servicing Southwest Louisiana for over thirty years and has a great reputation. If anyone is considering a backup generator, PLEASE call the pros at GoGEN and have your generator installed correctly the FIRST time! Generator installation is NOT for the DIY'ers. GoGEN told me they now offer 100% financing, so everyone can afford a generator.

    found Gogen superior in quality of service, did repairs in timely manner, good communication. Have dealt with them for a long time, both AC and electrical. They are NOT cutrate, but I wouldn't trust someone that was. Fair prices, responsive, great service, giving good recommendations and not prone to overselling at all. Therefore, if they say I need something and give me reasons, I go with it. I'm old and have been involved with mechanical stuff my whole life, so I believe I have a good handle on how things work.

    I have been a customer of this company for the past four years (2019-2023). Initially, I inquired about a ****** standalone natural gas-powered electrical generator. However, my recent request for help was with my broken air conditioning unit in a heat advisory time of the year. I made an emergency call and a technician (a retired US Marine Corps member) arrived the following business day. Despite a competitor in town promising to come in two days, I chose to stick with GoGen Services, Inc. Their USMC technician was punctual and made high-quality engineering decisions to identify and fix the problem. He was also friendly, courteous, and professional throughout the process. I was pleased with the reasonable cost of the repair, as their competitors in town tend to overcharge. Overall, I highly recommend this company, hands down!
