I went in to Ray J's School of Hair on April 29, 2023 to get my ends trimmed after talking to Mr. ***** the school owner and instructor. Over the phone I expressed to him that I wanted a trim and not a cut. I explained to him that I was nervous to get a trim because of a previous bad experience where 4 inches was cut off. He stated that he didn't cut anyone's hair unless they wanted it cut. I went in on the 29th and he looked over my hair and said that it was healthy and proceeded to trim it and showed me what he had trimmed off. What he showed me in his palm was barely any hair which is what I asked for. I paid 65 for a trim and silk press. He stayed in my head long than it should've taken and I proceeded to get out of the chair and told him that I didn't want my hair cut, to which he replied he didn't cut it. He washed and blow dried my hair and did the press on it. The silk press included him barrel curling it with big curlers to give it volume. It was nice when he finished with and I couldn't tell that he had cut more than 4- 5inches on one side because of the way he styled it. The left side wasn't cut as bad, but it still left me with a noticeable length change. I washed my hair for the first time myself on June 1, 2023 and noticed that my hair was significantly shorter and choppy . I call Mr ***** and told him that my hair had been cut and he stated that I came I with layers already. I looked for video and pictures to show him that my hair was longer and pretty much one length before I came there. He told me to come to the school so that he could see. So on June 2 I went in so that he could see what he had done. He admitted to cutting it at an angle and offered to fix it. The only way for it to be fixed is to cut inches off of the left side leading around to the right side. Which would be 4 inches of hair total cut. I spent 9 months growing my hair out and spent $1500 on braids to basically have it cut off after I said I didn't want it cut at all.
