They were helpful on the phone,l when needing to book, but their preferred hotel that we were forced to stay (the best western in Marlborough ) for the USA hockey nationals (our specific room) had wet floors, a leaky ceiling, clogged shower drain, black ants in the room, shredded window curtain, and the room did not have a locking door. We were told by the best western we couldn’t change rooms. Others in the hotel experienced the same thing.Team Travel Source

This whole industry including team travel source have been awful. Just a way for another company to collect even more money from the parents of travel athletes. Most of us know how to travel and book hotels. There is no added value and this company makes booking through their site mandatory. They give you fewer room and hotel options at higher prices than the hotels are offering. Unfortunately for the athletes and parents the use of team travel source is mandatory at many of these competitions. I assume the event organizers use them because they probably give kickbacks to the organizers, and the hotels probably kick back money to TTS for booking blocks of rooms. I would be happy if I was never forced to use this company again.Review fromLindsey S

Extremely disappointing experience with the registration defaulting to travel protection and being changed and unable to cancel after 14 days. But did not receive credit card statement to see the charge before 14 days. Challenging for our family to face these additional charges.Review fromBrenda S

Trying to reserve a room through Teamtravel for NCA in Dallas at the OMNI and team travel is saying that it requires 3 consecutive nights to book however there are not 3 consecutive nights available, only two are available. Why have 17 rooms available for Friday or Saturday but not enough blocked for Sunday. Why 3 consecutive nights required. I go to a lot of competitions and it’s only 2 nights required for most so it’s odd that Omni would only require this for NCA.Review fromMatthew W

The worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Their management team led by Jennifer H******* and Allie G****** were filled with unfulfilled promises and never delivered. Awful experience with this company. Made a hotel reservation for 2 rooms for an upcoming bball tournament in Detroit, paid the $9.99 per reservation, received confirmation, etc. Almost 3 weeks later, received cancellation emails and after contacting customer service, was told the hotel couldn’t accommodate. The real reason is TTS messed up and/or overbooked and we had to pay the price. No sympathy or compensation of any kind were offered. Only was told that I’ll receive my refund in 5-10 days… Will never use again.Team Travel Source

Hi Mr. Stojovic, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Unfortunately, there are times when a hotel partner is unable to uphold their contract with us, which was the case with your original reservations at the Tru Hotel Sterling Heights. Construction or remodels, government-extended contracts, or a variety of other situations out of our control can prevent the hotel from being able to guarantee the originally promised rooms. We don’t like it any more than you do, but it does happen in this industry occasionally. TTS did not overbook the property, and actually had no control over these reservations being cancelled. When we are forced to relocate a reservation, TTS will ALWAYS strive to make it right for the guest, which is why your full amounts paid upfront were promptly refunded and you were given the option to book wherever you please with or without the TTS booking link. I understand you are frustrated with the hotel not upholding your original reservation, and we certainly hope it will not happen again in the future. We do have a team of Specialists ready to help if you’d like assistance finding a comparable hotel for your event in June. Horrible company. Volleyball tournament in July in Vegas. I have called the majority of hotels on the strip, including the hotel where the tournament is being housed, and all of them have PLENTY of rooms available. Working through team travel source the only block of rooms, 12 rooms mind you, is SIX miles away from the tournament venue. We are required to book through team travel source and it is beyond frustrating. It would be entirely possible to stay at the event venue, but because we have to go through this company we are incurring additional travel fees, having to stay at a less than desirable hotel, and many more headaches trying to support our 15 and 16 year-old girls. Horrible company that does not care about the families that are being impacted and where they stay. I would pay full price for a hotel to be where we need to be and this company can’t even secure that. I would like to speak with an owner of the company to better understand their actual value to the rest of us.Team Travel Source

TTS feels like a scam - they charge a booking fee (9.99) for a reservation required to be made within a short window of time but is non-refundable when the tournament reached capacity and many of our club teams didn't get in. Call wait times were long. Customer service agent not particularly willing to help. Have used other housing company, THS, for many other tournaments with no fee, no long waits, and friendly agents. Hello Sandra, thank you for providing your feedback. I'm sorry to hear your team didn't get accepted to the Sunshine Volleyball Classic (week 2). As I'm sure you understand with these large events, often times the event producer allows for more teams to register than there are spots for teams to compete. That is completely up to the event producer, and TTS simply provides the hotel blocks for teams to reserve (whether or not they have been officially "accepted"). It is the case in some instances that exceptions can be made to the $6.00 Cancel Convenience fee charged on each reservation, however the $3.99 reservation fee is unable to be refunded. The non-refundable reservation fee is paid at the time of booking for all reservations through our booking management system and is communicated clearly on the booking page before any payment is processed. A fee such as this is not uncommon across many other online booking or ticket systems, such as Ticketmaster or EventBrite, and is necessary to cover the cost of each reservation booked through Team Travel Source’s booking system, EventPipe. In order to be consistent with every guest who has booked this season, we cannot refund the charge for some but not others. Thank you for understanding that we must keep it fair for everyone in this case. I’m also happy to speak with you to further explain if needed, just let me know! Regarding the long wait times, I hate to hear that you had trouble getting a hold of someone from our Customer Experience team in an acceptable timeframe. It is the case (as you likely know as a volleyball parent) that booking for the largest events of the season is in full swing. While we don't want anyone to have to deal with super-long wait times, we also do not want to rush through conversations with other guests seeking help, much like you are. We also pride ourselves on NOT outsourcing our call center; meaning all agents work and train at Team Travel Source together. Horrible Experience. Booked in December was notified 2 days before hotel check in (Feb 2) rooms were not available and they rebooked me in a more expensive hotel. Waited for customer service over 50 mins. Rep was able to cancel new room. Will never use this service againTeam Travel Source

Rip off organization. Worthless “lowest price” guarantee. I wish I could leave them 0 stars. I showed them 4 lower hotel prices and they have so many loop holes it is impossible to get them to honor their “guarantee”. The threat was that my grandson would not be able to play in his hockey tournament if we booked the hotel on our own. I cannot understand how this can be legal. I wonder how much they give in kick backs to tournament organizers?Team Travel Source

Mr. Bookbinder and I did have a conversation this week, and although he was not thrilled with our response to his "Lowest Rate Guarantee" comparisons, I do hope I provided more info and context for how third-party housing companies operate, as well as the value they bring to event producers and the communities in which they host events.
