American Chimney & Fireplace is the best! Phillip was very professional and very educated with fireplaces and chimneys and explained to me exactly what he was doing. I found out they are highly trained in what they do, insured and CSI certified! I was very comfortable with the process. I recommend this company to everyone. Thank you, American Chimney & Fireplace!

With American Chimney & Fireplaces repair work, we are really happy and satisfied.
They respected the integrity of our house and were on time, polite, and professional. The level of caution and care that (owner) Doug Hetsch and his technicians, provided both inside and outside our home while they made the necessary repairs astounded us and was much appreciated.
To anyone in need of fireplace or chimney repairs, we heartily recommend All American Chimney Service.

Wish I had read reviews of this company before utilizing them. A common theme throughout is their poor estimates/billing process. Because of their ineptitude they reached out after 15 months wanting more money. Save yourself from an awful experienc!! they damaged my equipment and left without advising me what occurred. Then it was a struggle to get the repair for the damage they caused. The repair work was done poorly as it failed within months. They were rude and the quality of there works was dubious at best!! Save yourself the heartache and go elsewhere for your work.

Thank you for your feedback. We strive to provide exceptional service to all of our customers, so we're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with your experience. However, we would like to clarify a few details.
First, we did not ask for additional money beyond what was initially agreed upon. We simply requested the balance owed, which we had been invoicing for over 15 months. Unfortunately, we did not receive any communication from you expressing concerns about our service until we sent a letter from our lawyer requesting payment.
As for the damage you mentioned, we take such claims seriously and did respond to address your concerns, completing the necessary repair work. We would have appreciated the opportunity to discuss and resolve any issues sooner if they had been communicated to us directly.
We value all feedback, even when it’s difficult to hear, as it helps us improve. If you'd like to discuss your concerns further, we're more than happy to have a conversation and work towards a resolution. Thank you again for your time.

They sold and installed a wood stove in my home without a permit or license, with two dented pipes and a broken brick and without a building rough frame opening, using right number of screws, or installing the required storm collar. I then found out it was way oversized for my bedroom. The manufacturer's minimum size recommendation for that stove is 400 sq. feet. My bedroom is 103.5. People at the agencies who certify them (C.S.I.A. and N.F.I.) told me the stove would cause oxygen depletion in a room that small and create a "hazardous situation" and not to use it. Instead of removing it, refunding my money and paying to get my walls and ceiling fixed, they put a lien on my house and are suing me in civil court for the unpaid balance and financial damages. I am now paying a lawyer to fight this. I cannot file a BBB complaint due to the lawsuit.
I've created a YouTube Channel called "American Fireplace Chimney Louisville Reviews" with several short videos documenting everything. Here is the link. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1CWOeP1-Gju3bYeCcOTsOA
You will see the damaged components, the incorrectly installed / missing parts, correction notices after government inspections, five years of their government records, BTU calculators, the unfair contract, the second contract he sent me designed to shut me up, the legal documents, etc.
I DO NOT recommend this company. They deserve minus ten stars.

    Dear Ms. A*****,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. At American Chimney & Fireplace, we take pride in our work and strive to ensure every installation meets the highest standards. After thoroughly reviewing our records, we would like to clarify a few points in response to your review:
Dented Pipe Replacement: You mentioned that dented pipes were left during the installation. Our records, along with the MP3 recording of our interactions, confirm that all dented pipes were promptly replaced. Ensuring the highest quality is a priority for us, and this was verified during the final inspection by the building inspector.
Final Building Inspection: The installation passed the building inspector’s final review with only one suggestion that the chimney be two inches shorter than initially reported, and a brace was required. We offered to install the brace at no cost, but you declined to allow our team onto your property.
Manufacturer’s Installation Requirements: Our installation was performed according to all manufacturer specifications and requirements. The stove you selected was installed in full compliance with the manufacturer’s guidelines and no issues regarding these were noted during the inspection.
Manufacturer’s Advice on Oxygen Depletion: You mentioned that agencies such as CSIA and NFI suggested that the stove could cause oxygen depletion in a room your size. We have not received any formal communication from these agencies supporting this claim. Our installation follows all regulatory and safety standards, and any legitimate safety concerns would have been flagged either during the installation or the final inspection.
Research on Stove Size: You specifically researched this stove before contacting us and presented it as an option for your space. Upon review, we agreed that this was the smallest stove available on the market that would fit your space. It’s important to note that our team’s recommendation was based on the same research, and the stove was appropriate for your needs.
Storm Collar and Screws: Regarding missing parts, the storm collar and screws were installed per manufacturer specifications. The inspector raised no concerns about these components during the final inspection.
Legal Proceedings and Liens: As you mentioned, the ongoing legal dispute arose after several attempts to resolve the outstanding balance were unsuccessful. We pursued the lien only after you refused to engage in constructive dialogue or allow us to address additional work. We have upheld our part of the contract and delivered the work in full compliance with agreed-upon terms.
We appreciate your feedback, but we believe your review does not accurately reflect the situation. We remain open to working with you to resolve any remaining issues.
    Sincerely,
    Doug Hetsch
    Owner, American Chimney & Fireplace
