- Government Actions:Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:Sedgwick County DA vs Marco Abraham
On October 4, 2023, owner Marco Abraham entered into a consent judgment with the Office of the Sedgwick County District Attorney. The assurance settles allegations that the business sold two vehicles with undisclosed structural damage after the DA’s Consumer Protection Division received two consumer complaints and investigated Abraham. Under terms of the assurance, Abraham provided a $15,000 refund to one consumer and provided a replacement vehicle at no additional cost to the other consumer. Abraham also agreed to change the business practices of his dealership to provide all buyers with a CARFAX report, a list of any open recalls and copies of any announcements from auctions. Based on Abraham’s voluntary actions, the Consumer Protection Division dismissed many of the original allegations as part of the settlement. Abraham agreed to a $2,000.00 civil penalty along with payment of court costs and investigative fees at the time of settlement. The Assurance was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.
