On May 15, 2023, Gottschalk Brothers Roofing, Inc., doing business as Valentine Roofing, entered into a Consent Judgment with the Office of the Kansas Attorney General. The Judgment settles allegations that the business engaged in acts and practices in violation of the Kansas Roofing Registration Act. Under terms of the Judgment, the business agreed to comply with the Kansas Roofing Registration Act, while acting as a general contractor and/or roofing contractor and performing roofing services in the state of Kansas. The business agrees to pay the Kansas Attorney General $6,000 in civil penalties for violations of the Kansas Roofing Registration Act and $1,125 in investigative fees. The Judgment was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.

"I received poor work, frequent materials changes, work completed differently than as was stated in the contract, an absolute mess of a yard, and nowhere in their contract does it state that they do not accept credit cards but somehow in 2023 they do not. I had essentially 30 days to pay, not business days, actual days before being hit with additional charges, no consideration for customer service, the insurance process and timeline, and they would only communicate by sending emails to my work email." ...
