He should say they only move rocks. They failed to put landscaping paper every where even though I paid for it, stopped 4-6 inches short on two sides of one area where it was grass so weeds popped up fast. Nothing was planted in this area so that can’t be his excuse to stop. He dug a hole instead of leveling off a high area and pushed the dirt up against my siding and fence so rocks didn’t cover the paper nice at all. Plus who puts dirt above the siding. Stepping stones were placed where the hole was dug so they wobbled on the uneven ground. The front area they didn't go around any plants just left everything in-betweens and in front of all with no paper, left mounds of dirt and old mulch and just dumped rocks on top. On the other side I already had some rocks and but made it wider. Instead of moving them aside they placed paper over the top of the front ones. So now that it's rained a few times you can see the paper sticking up and I’m slowly trying to lay it under. It’s much harder now with all the rocks. I sent him some pictures and he responded rude saying "you're welcome, weeds will grow no matter what and that the hole didn't need dug". He showed no sympathy for the lack of cleanup or not putting paper everywhere. I've noticed if they needed to cut or shape the landscaping paper around anything they just stopped and skipped those areas. I've spent weeks moving rocks, leveling out the 1st side, hauled off all the extra dirt, got the dirt below the siding and fence once again and added paper where they skipped. During the quote he said they would make sure it slopes away from the house and I had a section going straight to my house and then leveling out about 24" from the house. I mentioned removing some of the high to help when it rains and it could go towards the backyard because I was worried it would come in the house someday. I never said dig a pond like hole. I’m sure it’s all like this I just haven’t pulled weeds everywhere to find it.
