Anyone with a review on this page please feel free to contact me. He did the absolute same thing to my elderly parents. Thousands of dollars lost.

Contractor asked for a lot of money up front for a family member’s big remodel project. He then lied for over a year about ordering materials. He even made up stories about delays in shipping / bad materials and blamed various vendors in Manhattan. When we finally discovered what was going on and checked with the local vendors, we discovered it was all lies and materials hadn’t even been ordered. He tried to cover his tracks with fake order forms. He eventually agreed to pay back some of the money but it’s a year later and he hasn’t don’t it yet despite saying he would. This is 10s of thousands of dollars. He knows construction and good at making people believe they’ll do the work, but like others have written, it almost seems like a scam.

We had a similar experience with JS Homebuilders as other reviewers. The contractor took a long time to get started on our project. Then once the project was started we would go weeks without any significant progress. Communication from the contractor would often be a list of things that were going to be done in the coming weeks, but the items were never completed in the timeframe promised and often were several weeks or months late (if completed at all). We waited for 4-5 months for our addition to be roofed, and finally had to arrange it with a third party. Similarly we waited over a year for flooring that never arrived. Finally after 19 months of waiting waiting for the project to be completed, we hired another contractor to finish our project. We never got back some of the money that we paid JS Homebuilders for work that we had to pay other people to finish. I would not recommend using their services. They talk like they know what they are doing, but the project will take at least 3-4 times the length of time they say it will if it gets completed at all.

He was a family friend. Started my sisters house 3 years ago. Could not complete the job. Submitted false receipts to the bank for labor and materials. Essentially stole thousands of dollars. House is a complete train wreck. He is an absolute crook.
