Hyundai agreed to paint my car at their expense because their cars are known for chipping paint. I dropped my car off Monday March 25th at the dealership. They gave me a rental and I was on my way. Someone from the dealership drove it to the collision center and it was stolen out of the collision's lot Friday March 29th. They said it was stolen around 6am and they didn't call to tell me till around 4:30pm.
My car was later found and deemed a total loss. I asked them to intervene or do something to make it right and this was the manager's exact response:
When I contacted the manager he told me, "this is no different than your car being stolen from Walmart or Target, they aren't going to pay you for it."
The manager also guaranteed me that, "if you want the car to go away, I can make it go away." Meaning that even if my car isn't totaled after being stolen, he will make sure it's totaled out. Sounds like insurance fraud to me.
Also sounds like an inside job to avoid the expense of paying for my paint job. The whole situation is shady. I dropped my car off just to never see it again and never be offered a dime for it. Sad.
