Worst move ever! The movers were terrible, my elderly mother had a terrible experience!!! They didn't even know how to load the truck, therefore they had to use her personal SUV, and she had to leave behind items! Then when arrival at new apartment, they didn't even put furniture where she needed it . Basically just piled **** in the middle of the room. An antique cedar chest has chips all over it!!!! Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy!!! And they over charged a ridiculous amount!!

It pains me to write this review. I have used Starving Artists Moving 3 times now. The first move from an apartment to a house-- 3 movers, $125 /hr, cost me $850. The second move from a house to another house--3 movers, cost $975.

Yesterday, for my third move I had less stuff than the first move, and was given an estimate of $850-$950. In the 98 degree heat they sent two movers. They were scheduled to arrive between 8:30 and 9:30, but did not arrive until 10:30am. It took the 2 movers from 10:30am - 4:00pm to load up my house. They took a 30 min (well-deserved) meal break and got to my new house at 4:45pm. I tipped them each $100 and then my brother, my mother, a friend and I helped unload the van. We had the van unloaded by 5:40pm and the movers were here until 6:40 putting together the 3 pieces of furniture they needed to take apart for the move. My total was $1500--after having to do the unload process essentially ourselves. Almost 50% over the estimate. I was at a loss. I have attempted to call and speak with the owner, Craig multiple times. The call is not answered and is sent to a voicemail box that is full.

I know my calls are being screened. I had a friend call from her number and they answered on the second ring. I am so frustrated and would just like a chance to ask for some clarification on how I am charged $125/hr for 3 movers and the same price for 2.

This ** aside, the actual movers were incredibly lovely and have always been. They worked very hard on a hot day and were respectful and amiable.
