    We bought a Maytag washer with a 5 year warranty from Great Bend Appliance. The washer was continuously breaking down and parts had to be ordered. We had to continually go to town to wash clothes on numerous occasions. With back problems it was tough to continuously lug the clothes into town. We asked to be reimbursed for this to no avail. The washer was worked on 8 times. GB Appliance did bring out a loaner but the new washer was never replaced. The Maytag company would not hear the complaint either. GB Appliance finally said that we would be getting a new washer and that was the first part of November. There is still no washer. GB Appliance said it was shipped November 19th and now nobody knows where it is. All we are asking for is the new washer as promised and some reimbursement for going to town to wash clothes as we live in the country.

    This customer has a washer that has a 5-year warranty from Maytag. He called back in August about a terrible noise that the machine was making. We sent our technician within a day. He ordered parts under warranty from Maytag. He put on the parts. The machine persisted with the same noise. After being called back, we sent him out again. We made 7 trips in total to the customers house to try to take care of the issue. We even sent our head technician to have him look over it as well. Maytag told us to replace all the parts that were attached to the tub, which we did. It still made the same noise. We called into Maytag, who said that they were going to send us a new machine. Two months passed with no machine. We contacted Maytag again who told us that they shipped the washer in November. We contacted them a second time and were told the same. Each person gave us different dates. They provided us with three different dates but could not provide proof of the shipment. After contacting our Whirlpool rep (Maytag’s parent company), they figured out that a machine was never provided. They finally sent us a new machine (a few days ago). We have it set up to deliver tomorrow (Jan 11th). The customer is upset with Great Bend Appliance who has bent over backwards to take care of him. Every time we were called, we sent a technician out to his house within a day to take care of him. The customer was mad at the situation, but Maytag is the one who carries the warranty, not Great Bend Appliance. We are the company who sold the original washer but must listen to Maytag when it comes to their machine. They carry the 5-year warranty. As licensed technicians for Whirlpool/Maytag, we must listen to what tell us to replace before they will replace a product. This washer was unrepairable, but we cannot exchange it until they tell us. We gave him a loaner washer in September, so that the family was not without a working machine as they live in a town without a laundromat. We want to take care of our customers. That’s how we’ve had a flawless record for more than 25 years. When we called to tell them that the washer finally arrived, the customers spouse told us that she appreciates all the things that we did to take care of them.
