TO ALL HOMEOWNERS BEWARE!!! I am a 100% disabled veteran and my air went out. I made the mistake of calling Elite for help. They sent over a guy that replaced a piece and also told me I was 2 pounds light of Freon. I thought that was odd because I havent had any issues with freon in over 4 years, so I told him to fill it up which he did and I paid him and he left. the next day my AC was back to blowing warm so I called Elite again and they sent out a different tech. This one tells me all my freon is gone, that i have a bad coil, my outside unit was dirty and clogged which caused my unit in the basement to rust, and I need a complete new unit for 15K, which being disabled on a fixed income would be almost impossible. so I called a different company for a second opinion. after the tech looked over my system he said that someone had intentionally unscrewed one of the valves outside which was the cause of my freon loss, he did a pressure test and vaccum test of my system and said nothing was wrong with my unit, that probably all it did need was the original part Elite put on and nothing more was needed. He refilled my system and it has been fine ever since. I cant believe a company today could be as crooked and treat a disabled vet this way, and you have to wonder who else are they taking advantage of. Steer clear of Elite, they have no morals what so ever.

We were incredibly disappointed with this company. We called them because they installed our unit less than 4 years ago (new build so we didn't choose them). When the tech came out (on a Friday) he told us we needed a new blower motor and that it needed to be ordered and he wasn't sure when it would come in. Well, they managed to find this part locally, so when he came to install it (the following Monday) he discovered we also had a bad board and a new one also needed to be ordered. I called on the next morning, Tuesday, to get an ETA on it and was told that they didn't know when it would be in, and it was up to the timing of the manufacturer to send it. Did I mention that it's the end of July? I decided to call ****** and they came out the same day and replaced the board and we had cold air by Tuesday afternoon. Three days later (one week after their first visit) I received a call from Elite saying the needed part had come in. Why they thought we were going to go without A/C for any entire week, at the end of July is beyond me. And did I mention that the Tech and customer service continually told us that we had the cheapest unit and the tech kept telling us, as he's replacing the blower motor, that he hates working on the model that we have. They need to rethink how they do business if they want to stay competitive. Too many other companies doing the same work offering better service. We will NEVER call Elite again!

My A/C spit out an error code about my outdoor unit and it stopped cooling. I had the Elite H&C who installed it 9 years ago out and they said is the main converter board. They told me that unless I can provide Carrier proof of annual maintenance for the last 9 years, it would NOT be covered by warranty. I only had receipts for the last 3 years even though it was serviced annually. They quoted $3400 parts and labor and the part will take 7 to 10 days to arrive. They recommended replacing the outdoor unit for $10,500 (financed at $180/month for 5 years) since it's 9 years old. They could install it the next day. It's sounded plausible but I decided to price check with other local Carrier dealers because it was a lot of money. It had to a carrier unit to communicate with the rest of the system. Several dealers wouldn't quote prices over the phone. However, the 3rd one I called was an eye opener. The lady at R******* *** said it she's worked at this Carrier dealer for 25 years and never needed maintenance receipts. She asked for the serial number and went to the website and confirmed the unit was under parts warranty. They are scheduled to come the next day with the part for a warranty service. Not only was the part under warranty but it was locally available. R******* installed the part under warranty for $165. So, Elite was either scamming into buying a new unit for $10,500 or they were going to charge me $3400 for a service that should have been $165. R******* also said that the new unit replacement should have been $6000, not $10,500 Elite quoted. I'm contacting Carrier, the BBB and I'm leaving a scathing review on Google. I'm wondering if my unit really needed replacing 9 years ago. Most people would have just knuckled under and bought the new unit. Sadly, most victims would be those least able to afford a new A/C but would have chosen $180 / month versus $3400 out of pocket plus waiting 7 to 10 days without A/C.
