I was led to J&A contractors *** (JA) by the ****************** for ************************** that the city of ******** recommended we go through to look over any contract we got from companies to work on our house for what we wanted done after receiving Reparation money from the city of Evanston earmarked to fix our house. JA in turn hired Strickly Plumbing and Remodeling LLC (SPR) to do the drail tile work because they had a plumbing license. SPR never step foot on our property to do any of the drain tile plumbing work. JA permit expired May 18, **************************** June of 2023. They severed the gas line twice and I had to pay to repair the line to my gas grill. He didn't place the gas line where I wanted it. He then yanked it out of the ground and placed the gas line in another place I didn't want it. I asked for concrete piers to be put back in place under the front and back steps and they refused, stating that it is not code so they didn't have to put it back the way it was before they started working on the house. Two days after pouring the concrete for the steps, the dirt that should be holding the steps up along with the rebar tying it to the house so it won't move, collapsed and the front and back steps are only being held up by 4 pieces of half-inch rebar. The dirt from under the sidewalk going around to the back of my house collapsed also. The patio is sloped toward the house when we have water issues, ie the work that is being done. They broke the redwood panel on the front of my house. They disposed of the gate and some of the fencing. The air conditioner is not resting on flat ground. They tore a 2-foot by 6 inch hole in the rear of my house that I had to repair because you could look directly outside into the yard from the basement. We live on a canal bank with lots of critters around. We had to walk through mud to get into our house because they didn't put down boards for us to walk on. The damage to repair the work will cost 3x as much.
