    We contracted Skarin Custom Homes to build our home. The workmanship and project management decisions by *** Skarin were very poor in our opinion. Many were not approved by us. In the photo, his painter is rolling directly over dirty siding. The painters stated Skarin contracted them only to paint 1 coat and they were not contracted to wash, prime or caulk the exterior of our home. Within a year, the paint is peeling off and tannins are bleeding through in areas. Some areas of our home received no paint leaving exposed wood or unfinished primer. Further, Skarin's siding subcontractors used mixed materials that we did not approve and installed dirty, improperly stored siding directly on our new construction home. We gave Skarin a few opportunities to remedy his siding mistake. He refused to correct this.Skarin claims the warranty only covers city code violations for up to one year post occupancy and that they are not obligated to fix our issues beyond that. We will be spending thousands of additional dollars doing paint and other remedial work on our home, which would be unnecessary if Skarin had done its work correctly.I cannot recommend this builder.
