A tech from this company came to my house on July 9, 2024 to clean & check my Lennox air conditioner. He told me that the a/c was leaking Freon & advised either to add Freon, which he said would cost about $400, or replace the a/c. I chose to replace the a/c & chose a ******, which would cost $5,870.00. My original a/c was installed in 1999. I was required to pay half of the amount then, which I did. I wrote a check to Allen Htg for $2,935.00 & gave it to the tech. The new a/c was scheduled for July 15 installation. The installers arrived around 9:30 am July 15 & began work. About half way through their work, I received a call from the tech who had received my down payment check. He started the conversation by telling me that I would have to write another check for the entire amount. The reason he gave: He had placed my down payment check in his shirt, had washed his shirt, & the check was destroyed. I suggested that, since he was responsible for destroying the check, he should write a check to replace. A heated discussion proceeded & I asked to speak to his boss. A few minutes later, I received a call from someone named **** who said she was in accounting. She told me that if I did not pay the total amount the installers would have to remove the a/c & leave. I asked her to check with her boss. I offered to pay $2,935.00 & the remainder in 30 days. She called back in a few minutes & said that was not acceptable. She then said that she would reimburse me for the charge I would incur for putting a stop order on my original down payment check. I had checked with the *********** said the original check had not cleared & they would place a stop order on it, which would cost $30.00. I felt like a total victim at this point. The installers had done much to install the a/c. I wanted the a/ c. So, I wrote the check for the entire amount. I feel like they had played a very dirty trick on me. I did not receive $30.00 for the stop order.

I called Allen heating for a clean and check of my furnace in December of 2022. the clean and check went well but the tech said one of my capacitors was getting weak, I want my furnace to run at peak performance so I said to go ahead and install a new one. I did ask the cost and the tech said it would be $189 for the capacitor. this price bothered me for a few days so I checked on the part with ******* on ******** and found the part only cost $4. A$4 part for $189 dollars??? I called Allen to complain about this and try to resolve it but the owner of Allen did not even give me the courtesy to call me back. I called that business 3 times before I talked to anyone. Well as everyone knows bad news travels fast and lasts a long time!
