    A word of warning about Advanced Small Engine Repair out of Moline, **. We hired them to fix our lawn mower, based on lots of positive reviews on ****** Maps. The person who came to the house was ill-prepared (1 toolbox with a single rachet set- no oil, no gas, nothing). The mower still wouldn't start even after the repair person left so we followed up, got a bit of a run around, and then finally told them we were taking our business elsewhere. Then my spouse got a text from them, threatening us with bodily harm if we left a bad review. The text also mentioned that the owner has done prison time for attempted murder and battery. Very threatening! Police have been contacted.

    ZERO star. I called Advanced Small Engine Repair in ******, ** to fix my generator that was leaking gas. **** (owner) showed up for the appointment. He didn't have the necessary parts to replace anything on my generator. He basically, had an empty bag. Thats when RED flags started going off. He kept trying to offer more services for more money. I declined the extra services. He was easily angered and started yelling at me because instead of replacing a part he wanted to cut the needle off of the part. I asked if he could order the part, he told me that would be another $60 plus travel cost. He proceeded to yell more. He only accepts cash and no receipts. At some point in our conversation **** told me he carries a gun, and he will get his money one way or another, I know your name and address. He was more worried about the money instead of fixing my generator. He kept asking me over and over about the money. He didn't have a company car. He said he caught an UBER to my house. There was a guy in a car across the street laid back in the driver seat waiting on him. I didn't know it at the time. I watched him as he left. That when this guy let his seat up. He said he doesn't accept work from people in the hood because they don't have money. The generator is still broken. He was caught in so many lies by me and the police. I called the police because now I fear for my life. The police told me to report this business to the BBB to warn others about this business.
