Nightmare from a Music Trip to ****** A high school students experience On June 15, 2023, a group of 300 people, including about 150 Illinois high school students, got on the music tour to ****** for 2 weeks. The tour was organized by Dr. ****************** the director of the Illinois Ambassadors of Music (IAM) and travelled with ******************* Travel (BRT) **** Students can earn 3-hour credits for college from McKendree University, IL. A life-changing experience as advocated by *** turned out to be a nightmare and entirely changed one students life. One school bus captain named ************************************** humiliated one student by putting a big clock around his neck as a punishment for tardiness. The student wearing clock was exposed to wherever they went, pulled to the front of the bus, and reminded to wear it all the time. Even on the returning flight, the student was teased by **** again on this clock experience. BRT and IAM disappointed not only the students' family but also other talented students and their parents. I could not believe this happenedI could not let this happen to my child!, said one parent on the same bus. The student technically was NOT late. The school bus WAS late for 45 minutes. The student wanted to get his phone that was slipped out of his pocket and left at his seat when the plane was landed, but one chaperone stopped him from doing so. The chaperone instructed the student to exit the airplane with others and then let him come back to fetch his phone after all passengers got off the plane. The incident was handled poorly. The family requested a sincere apology letter via a public channel from ****/IAM. But, after a year, still no sincere apology. Putting a big clock on students neck was joked around as fun. What a great logic they had! Their non-sincerity and lack of professionalism caused a second damage to the student and familyno group travel since then. Please treat our students with respect, as how you want to be treated.
