The number of heating & A/C contractors is limited in the ******** ** / **************** area. When making a selection, do NOT pick Boonstra Heating. My reasons:1. Original quotes received in Aug ************************ Sept. 2021. Took multiple calls to finally have new AC units installed late April 2022. So if you need quick service forget about it.2. Once work was started took an additional 10 days to complete. 3. When work was "finished", the real issues became apparent.4, Contractor did not seal around sheet metal gaps in all 9 flexible duct lines coming off of 2 blowers and did not completely seal metal joints between blower and coil cabinets. This would have amounted to a great deal of cooling loss. I removed all 9 flexible duct lines, properly sealed sheet metal gaps and re-attached using 2 large zip ties on each duct line, 1 on the inner flexible duct to the sheet metal and a 2nd over the insulation. On several lines, the contractor only used 1 zip tie. I also completely sealed joints between the blower and coil cabinets. This took many hours of work plus the cost of the sealing tape.5. Contractor explained if I wanted to utilize the dehumidification feature all I needed to do was flip an "S7" switch on the blower to the ON position. What he did not explain was that the front cabinet on each blower had to be removed and the very small S7 switch moved to ON. This took over a half hour.6. I had 2 damaged flexible ducts that had to be replaced. Contractor said they would quote, but did not. With a friend's help I replaced both damaged ducts. This took a few days and over $200.7. Contractor stated AC units come pre-charged. Due to cool weather, accurate charge was not verified. They stated they will stop by to check. Have not seen them.8. Contractor stated a $600 rebate was available, but failed to state I had to process. Once started, it took 2 visits and 3 calls to rebate provider to process.Poor workmanship and customer service.
