This business is fraudulent! They billed me for services and we paid them on time and in full. They then billed us a 2nd time for the same services, hoping that we weren't paying attention due to our child's illness, trying to get us to over pay them. When I called them they acknowledged that they received payment.

Reviewing the complaints, based on costs being billed and horrendous service "provided" by the staff, I strongly recommend contacting the office of the Inspector General at HHS. If they arent already blocked from doing business with ******** and ********* a visit from HHS would be very unpleasant for them. The state Attorney General may be happy to visit them also. The ** can make it very unpleasant. Also make sure the city council is aware of their predatory practices and could pull their business license and give them another bad day. I am a compliance officer in *** and know what those audits can do to an ambulance service.

I went to an evening doctor ************ I warned the doctor that I had occasionally passed out around needles, and that I had had a stressful day and felt it was a possibility that night. I did pass out, and a few minutes after I woke up Superior arrived, who had been called while I was out. I immediately told them I did not want their services. After they refused to let me leave, I grudgingly let them take my blood pressure hoping they'd leave me alone. They continued to argue with me and bully me for ***** minutes, trying to convince me to get in the ambulance against my will and receive unnecessary medical care in the *** despite having just explained multiple times what had happened. Every nurse and doctor I've ever had in the past has told me "we see this all the time, it's not a big deal." Every technician giving flu shots in a pharmacy has also told me, "we see this all the time, it's not a big deal," and the handful of times it has happened it has never required any medical intervention other than a glass of water. After repeatedly telling them I did not ask for their services, did not want their services, and did not need their services, they finally let me sign a form denying their "help", and I then drove myself home and had dinner with my family like any other night because there was no real problem. A few days later they sent me a bill for $600, though I did not ask them to come and told them from the moment they walked through the door that I did not want them there, and only let them take my blood pressure because I felt harassed and hoped they would leave me alone after checking. I consider both their actions and their bill shameful and unethical.

I would like to file a formal complaint against Superior Ambulance Services, Carol ******* ******** for the excessive and deceptive billing practices. ** July 3o, 2023, I was transferred from ********************* in *******, ** to ***************** in *********, ** due to an acute illness. The ambulance ride was approximately 30 miles. ** 12/17/2023 Superior Ambulance Services sent me a bill of $9,230.00 and threaten to send this bill to collection if this is not settled. I have twice responded to them to contact my insurance provider ********** blue shield of ********. Superior finally sent this bill to ********** Blue Shield and the claimed was settled by ********** with my responsibility being $0 amount.** 4/29/2024 Superior sent me another bill of $7,240.83 demanding as the remainder of original bill that was originally settled by ********** Blue Shield. I feel that is predatory and dubious billing practice is unjust and needs to be investigated by your agency. Superior Ambulance is taking advantage of patients who are at time in extreme health distress and do not have a reasonable chance of asking the excessive amount of charges before taking a ride with this service.

I am sooo beside myself at this point. My son was transported to a higher level of care 16 miles away from our original destination. Today we recieved a bill from superior for $6,557 (after insurance). My son has been transported with this company before for the same issue and it was only $1,000- with this $1000 bill we called to set up a payment plan they offered to take away 50% of the bill if we paid right then and there ( I thought this was weird for a company to do this, but then continued to pay the bill as it would save money). How does the price jump up 8x the amount for a 16 mile transport within 1 year???. I do not feel right about this and would like to look into other options.

0 Stars or as low as it goes. I had an unfortunate event that caused a visit to the ** a couple of months ago. Once fixed up at the **, they admitted me to the hospital. I was not aware that the hospital I was at had no beds so they wanted to send me to the hospital down the road. My wife was there and offered to take me but the ** staff stated that I had to go by ambulance and the ** called this company. The ambulance arrived and I got in the chair and they gave me a ride 15 miles to the next hospital. A couple of weeks later a couple of complications sent me back to the ** and back to the hospital. A couple of weeks after getting home, i received the first bill. They charged $8,210.00 for the first ride. A week later I received another bill for $3,546.00 for the second ride. My insurance paid all but $5,423.08 of both bills together. I called to complain because I could not understand why two rides for the exact same service were so differently priced and because both bills included charges for services not rendered. The person I finally got a hold of (after many attempts) told me that it was my word against the EMTs so I had no leg to stand on as far as the services not rendered, and the bills were different because it was a different level of service but that was also not true as it was the exact same service (a simple 15 mile ride) from one hospital to the other. He did offer 40% off if I paid right then. I reluctantly paid but asked him to verify that I was paid in full and would not be receiving another bill and he did verify that but guess what, I received another bill and now I have spent hours trying to get someone on the phone again to discuss. The 40% discount alone tells me the billing from this company is a type of scam and should not be legal. I am fortunate that I could pay the discounted price but not everyone is that fortunate. I do intend to take this up with the hospital as well. They should not be call this company.

If I could give zero stars I would. I just received an outrageous bill from a hospital transfer last month. I do not understand how they justify charging over $7000 for a 6 minute ambulance ride from one hospital to another. I was not given a choice in the matter, if I wanted my procedure done, I had to be transferred. The fact that they can charge these ridiculous amounts needs to be looked into.

Minus 5 star rating. This is a case for the "No Surprise Act of 2022" and these people need to be shut down. Transferred from one hospital to another, no choice in carriers. Two bumbling EMT came, didn't know what they were doing. Should have refused the ride in hindsight. Nearly 10K for the ride. Many charges added to the bill. My insurance paid nearly $900.00 and asked them to write off the rest. I got a bill for the first time 4 months later. I have called 7 times to reach out to them about this bill. On hold for one hour 10 minutes with no operator contact. Five of the times, I left my number in the queue to be called back. Never a call, nothing. I sent email after email to reach out to someone. Using the email address they sent on the first bill. I have sent many emails to this point and still have never been called or emailed concerning the bill. Today, in the mail, these b******* sent the bill to collections. I tried for 4 months to speak to someone from this company to work this out, only to have no returned call or email, but instead to be sent to collections. Steer clear of these people and company, they are poorly staffed and zero customer **********************.

My son had to be transported from **************** ********* to ***************** ********* ** which is 11 miles. They charged us 19 miles for $4000 .I went to in-network hospital of **************** but the "ambulance service" charge ** out-of-network.**************** refused to transfer kid on our own although his condition was stable. The Alexian staff said only its ambulance will do transfer.Superior Ambulance is basically a collection agency on a facade of ambulance service. If you ****** the profile of some of staff then they have only prior experience of bartenders.I tried to resolve matter with them but they are souless rock or even worse.
