Done dirty by Kult of Athena. My wooden hilt on a Baselard came in chipped, & updates on tracking were unreliable. When the sword arrived, it came without a scabbard. I contacted them via ****************** & it took them forever to get back to me. They first accused me of not knowing how to look in a box; said the scabbard was in the packing paper. I explained to them that I had spread out & flattened the packing paper so as to re-wrap the sword for my fiance, so -- unless the scabbard was as thin as paper, it was not in the box. They then said they would ask the warehouse if they could locate the scabbard. Then, without admitting any fault, they suddenly had a scabbard for me. No apologies, nothing. I asked them about shipping, thinking that surely, based on their own mistake, they'd expedite the shipping, as it was a time-sensitive gift. I mean...it was an incomplete order! The onus was on them to make it right. But no, they had no intentions of getting the scabbard to me in a timely manner, shipped it out via standard, & that was that. No more contact; no offer of a discount; no apology. The scabbard arrived & was the worst quality I'd ever seen; cheap, thin wood wrapped poorly with the thinnest leather. The glue job was horrendous, with glue dripped out along the seams. The seams didn't even match up, so there is an ugly missing part along the length of the scabbard, where you can see the cheap insides. I will NEVER order from this company again. Turns out, they are not even the manufacturers of the products, merely a third-party sales/shipping facility with a markup on prices. What a sham.Review fromAurelia M

Quality items and reasonable timing of shipping given the distance. Their shipping department missed a backpiece and one buckle/rivet was popped on the chest piece, but when brought to their attention, they refunded the difference between 'used' and 'new' (given the busted rivet) and re-shipped the backpiece at no cost to us.Shipper ******* was also an issue collecting the duty but again, they re-shipped for us ****** said duty was not collected and returned the item, there was no deadline for payment in the ***** email and I was on holiday so it was "late").Customer service takes a few days sometimes, but always responded and worked to a solution.Review fromRussell R

Ordered a sword that was on sale for $26 dollars. Waited the appropriate 6-8 weeks, and it was still in the "processing" stage. I emailed them asking for an ETA. Four days later I get this response..."It looks like we tried to reach out to you about your order. When you placed your order, our company was undergoing new system integrations. For some of the items the correct amount didn't transfer over properly. At the time you placed your order the price was listed at $26.00 when it is actually $288.00. We have your order currently as a partial payment.A remaining balance of $262.00 is needed for your order to be placed. As this is a usually ships item it will be 6 to 8 weeks till the item comes in.*** **************** **********************"They made no attempt to contact me. I have no emails or anything from them."Undergoing new system integrations"? That didn't transfer the correct amount over properly? The sword was listed on sale, along with several others from a specific sword manufacturer. Sounds like a good excuse for someone who made a fat thumb error, listed the wrong price, and doesn't want to own up to their mistake and honor the original listed price. The good ole "ain't technology crazy?" excuse.I told them if they're refusing to honor the original price listed, refund me. So far not good. Sword was very dirty. Glue like sticky substance all over the sword. Inside the sheath the same thing. So far no reply on email ticket and nobody is answering their phone.Review fromHerb E

A terrible company all around. Poorly packaged items, damages from shipping. Product (sword) was very inferior in finish, fitment and sharpening looked like a 8 year old did it with a rock. The sheath literally fell apart on day 3. I received nothing but smart mouth and nasty attitude from customer service. I will never order from kult of(thievery) athena again.Kult of Athena

Because we respect our customer's opinions, we published your negative review on the product and experience. You have since complained that we altered your review and threatened us with legal action. I've tried this place fewer than a handful of times. It started out OK, but has just gone downhill from there. The last straw was a purchase of a medieval cutlery set with a leather carrying pouch. The only usable piece is the leather pouch. I bought 3 sets & they came delivered in plastic as the items were well oiled to protect them from corrosion. That was fine until I decided to open one & clean it up to use. I've bought these from other places before, so I cleaned it the way I was instructed from past vendors--**** dish soap & warm water. Dry them immediately. The water was black when I was done. The rag had to be thrown away. It was just filthy. I waited a day & checked them out again. I could still get black residue to come off on my hands from the "rough polished" part of the utensils. So, I washed & dried them again. Still got black residue to rub off on my skin. Called KOA several times. NOBODY answered the phone. I left a couple of voicemails in the phone system. NOBODY called me back. I finally emailed them & got a reply. I explained the issue to them emphasizing that this can't be right. They wanted photos of the residue on my hands. I sent them photos & they replied by saying it was "normal" & to send them back if I was not happy. That way, according to their policy, they get out of paying for the return shipping. Since I didn't want to pay over $20 for shipping to & from KOA & have nothing to show for it, I decided to keep the set I tried to clean & return the other 2. The set is unusable, in my opinion, because you can't get them clean enough to start using them. I refuse to touch food with these utensils or put them in my mouth. There was no apology, advice, or any kind of attempt to save this transaction by KOA. Their policies are as medieval as their products. So, now, I have a really expensive medieval cutlery set that can only serve as a reminder, to *************** I will encounter, to never shop at this site again.
