This property management company took over yet another building in my neighborhood that was bought up by a for-profit housing company. Since assuming management, SI Property Management has allowed the building to slip further into disrepair. Significant water damage, roof issues, grave security issues--including break-ins, attempted assault, car vandalism in lot, and even a daytime break-in while a tenant was in their apartment. SI Property Management failed to address any of the issues repeatedly brought to them. Tenant after tenant moved out to be replaced by people dealing and doing drugs in the hallways, decaying meat and other refuse littering the halls and steps, lights repeatedly out in the halls leading to treacherous blackout conditions... Some units are so full of drugs you can smell them even walking down the hall--and I'm not talking about marijuana. I'm talking about much harder drugs. S I Property Management didn't care--even when a tenant was threatened on premises by a drug user who didn't live at the unit. When our family finally moved out, S I Property Management had raised our rent with a TWO WEEK NOTICE despite refusing to fix the damage in our apartment we disclosed to them. When we politely asked them to reconsider the substantial rent hike, they became belligerent and threatening because "the owner has every right to raise the rent however much they want." We tried to arrange a time for them to check our unit the week we moved out early, rent paid in advance as usual. They refused to meet us, instructing us instead to leave the keys in the mailbox. We never, ever heard back from S I Property Management about our security deposit even though we left them our forwarding contact information and state law requires them to give us notice of our security deposit within 30-days of our move out. Their reply? "If you didn't hear from us you're not getting anything back." Illegal, per our state's landlord/tenant laws.Typical slum lord partners.

This is from the perspective of a prospective tenant. The guys on the phone will not listen to you and they will not address your issues. They'll claim you're yelling when you're not, and yes, I was upset with ****, the person I was speaking with. When he was trying to make a point that no one would hang up on me and that it could have been a disconnect, I believe he was being cheeky and hung up on me himself. Enjoy your vacation, man. You just lost out on a person who had at least 6 months of rent in hand because your staff couldn't be bothered to answer to phone during business hours. I can show the ******* call logs if you want to be ***** and take me to court like you have other people who have complained. You have nothing but complaints online, and half of them are you responding saying you have taken legal action. How about actually making your product more desirable!?Communication is key. I was a PR major. I'm a teacher now, and every single teacher in the ** area is going to know to avoid your service.

Please read before renting. Throughout over 2 years as a Tenant, we have never been able to get them to fix anything on the property. We went without water for a week in 2021 with a busted water heater. They left the AC/heat off broken all winter in December 2021. **** may be the worst agent I’ve ever dealt with. **** the owner might as well say he don’t work for them. Now they are allowing the owner to sale the home in middle of lease, with no notice of tenant at home and not sticking with their contractual agreement. If you read this, stay away from this company. I’ve had to hire a lawyer for further dealings with them. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

We worked with this company as owners for more than 10 years. The service has at times been good and at times been horrendous. We've recently broke with the company because of severe mismanagement, not picking up the phone (for us or for tenants). We cannot reach the office or maintenance. When problems with the property, we are sometimes contacted, sometimes not. We have asked for bids for large maintenance and not received them. Then find out later, that another - less thoughtful - choice has been made. Other major maintenance ignored. Significantly dropped the value of the house. We terminated contract as required with 60 days notice. They simply stopped working. The company did not collect rent from the tenant and misrepresented the status of the account. At times there has been good office staff trying to make good decisions. But we stopped trusting the company generally and the owner - **** - specifically with our rental home. This company should be audited.
