    I have personally used J&D heating for approximately two years. In the past I have been satisfied with the service. Yesterday I had a technician out to check on why our heat pump was not coming on. I was told we would have a minimum of a $44.00 dollar charge for the house call which I was fine with. The tech came out checked the thermostat and realized we had it on an emergency setting which was bypassing the heat pump. The house call took maybe 5 minutes. Everything came on and was working properly. The tech went out to the truck and let me know I might have a little higher bill then the $44.00 dollars which I figured would be fair for a house call. I was expecting around $100.00 to maybe $150.00 dollars. What I was not expecting was the tech to tell me he had to charge me for the least expense service he had and that was for a HO1A System Component Rejuvenation Performance and safety testing which was not done and that the charge was approximately $265.00 + the $44.00 equaling a total charge of $311.00 for my 5-minute house call. I will not be using this company for any future work or giving any recommendations for them as I do not believe in price gouging. Use them at your own risk.

    Honesty and integrity mean everything to me, and we certainly witnessed anything but that when we responded to an ad from J&D promoting a heating system tune-up. The company's service tech supposedly checked out everything while I was busy doing other things. A few years earlier we had replaced all three of the motors in our furnace . I told him upfront about that because everything seemed to be working. We just wanted the furnace checked over now that the heating system is here.By and by, came the verdict. "Your furnace and air conditioner are on their last leg. One of your motors is shutting down and the others are overheating...," he said. You name it, we were in big trouble. How much to replace everything? ******* to *******, but more likely on the higher side, he said. A few days later, we had everything checked out for a second opinion. "No need to do anything, we were told. Your system is functioning just fine and should perform withing acceptable standards for some time. It certainly does not need to be replaced now". My advise? Stay clear of J&D. In our case, anyway, the sales approach was a big lie -- unethical and dishonest, even criminal,. Talking unsuspecting customers into replacing functional heating and air conditioning equipment should be punishable by spending time in Jail. The replacement cost estimates were also well above normal.How would I rate J&D? Rather than 0 stars, I'll consent to one star, only because the sales presentation was so detailed and convincing that the temptation now was almost convincing. It is freezing out there. Wait any longer, and you may wish you had listened.******************************************, *****
