All chicks arrived dead! Hoover refuses to replace my order because they are soooo busy. BUYER BEWARE!!! If your chicks die you are moved to the end of the line. We are talking about 15 chicks not 200. You are last on their list once the chicks ship. To heck with when you purchased and to heck with making it right. Any decent business would make this right but they refuse. Their response is good luck finding your chicks somewhere else/ we can ship 4 months from now but we are too busy to help you. Although you ordered first! Terrible customer service!!! I have never heard of such draconian practices in the age we live in now. They are LITERALLY a chicken factory and Hoover can’t re-ship 15 baby chickens! Let that sink in! Terrible customer service!

Had 2 shipments in the dead cold winter, all 40 arrived on time and alive!! Lost 2 failure to thrive, other 38 are looking good at 1 weeks old and 2 weeks old. Very happy with my purchase and highly recommended ????

I have in the past ordered chickens through Hoover's and had a good experience. This last year was completely different. I ordered a dual purpose Meat Bird/Egg Layer. They arrived and within a few weeks I had a chick with a crooked leg. As they grew I noticed more and more of them were becoming bow legged and having issues walking. I reached out to them in August of last year and I was told it was a vitamin issue with my feed. They offered to do nothing as they had not received any other complaints regarding the birds. So I checked with my elevator and I also reached out to our local University who confirmed that it was not my feed but in fact the chickens. I did order another set of chickens in the fall to replace these as we knew we would need to cull them as their legs broke down. And out of 20 hens we ended up with two roosters as well out of a group that was to be layers. So if you are planning on ordering chickens my advice it to stay far away from hoover's as they seem to not care about their customers or the quality of chickens they are sending out now. Please go somewhere else.

Back in February 2018, I placed and order for several different chick breeds without any problems. A few days before shipping was to occur, I was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. No one would be available to receive or care for them so I contacted them from the hospital to cancel my order. They were very understanding and refunded all my money. The woman wished me a speedy recovery and said whenever I was ready to place another order to do so. (I spent a week in hospital and 8 weeks recovering) A few months later I was given 20 plus chickens and ducks by a friend moving so I was glad I couldn't complete the order. I now buy poultry from Rural King and they get their birds from Hoover's Hatchery.

I have had previous purchases from Hoover's Hatchery through Tractor Supply before and all has been well. Just a week ago, I made an order of 10 light Brahma Chicks. They arrived, but I had 4 die within just 1 week of having them. Their policy is ti refund any within 48 hours- mine were out of that range, sadly, but still should not have died within 5 days of having them. I am now on day 10 of having them and only have 3 left our of the 10. Something is not right! They are living separately in a enclosed room with a heat lamp- nothing should cause them to die so quickly. I contacted the company and also sent pictures. I was reimbursed for simply 1 chick. 1 out of 7. I was given back $3 and paid $37 for dead chicks. I will not be using Hoover's Hatchery any more. The customer should always be happy- I am not!
