We will never hire them again! They were to put new flooring in the kitchen and bathroom by taking up the old sub flooring and starting new. They started laying the floor in April but did it on top of the old flooring leaving nearly a 1 inch drop off in the doorway as a trip hazard. Also, they were 3 boxes short of flooring with a mound of gray floor compound outside the bathroom. Instead of fixing their mistake, they dumped us leaving us to find another contractor. We could not get the bathroom door on, trim, etc. because the floor was too high. We were torn up for 4 months!

It was the worst experience! The truth is, we don't want anyone from Strands to step another foot in our house! After having such anticipation and high hopes for new flooring, our entire experience has been pretty disappointing. It started with Terry taking a two-week vacation instead of getting back to us with a quote. That's just plain bad customer service. Maybe we should've taken that as a hint. Then, right off the bat, there was the wrong call on laying plywood to bring the floor up. We would've had to cut all interior doors to fit and then custom order a front door. Afterward, there were all of these instances that you kept on referring to as finishing touches. They were never finishing touches! It was rework for things that were done wrong. The register vents weren't cut properly two were cut to narrow and hammered in. There is the gouging in the new floor and the bent registers to prove this. The hole he cut for the register in the dining room, he cut an inch too long. No clean up when said work was finished, registers full of flooring scrap. 23 nails in a transition piece by kitchen door and not a single nail was countersunk in any of them. Bad nailing in the trim all over the place and many nails put in precarious locations.......made no sense whatsoever!!! We also noticed that when you actually look at how the floor boards where laid, there was a huge area in the center that has mostly light-colored boards and several places where the same exact board was laid near the same looking board. I wish we had something good to say, but overall, our experience after having hired Strands has been a regretful one. We will always wonder if and what problems we will run into down the road with this flooring installation. Follow, owner of Strands visited our home and said they would take care of issues......we got a couple nails put in and a transition piece replaced. Transition piece appeared to be used, it was cut crooked, had a large crack in it and a nail hole
