The absolute worst insurance experience of my life. Would absolutely not recommend.

After 9 years Grinnell is cancelling our church insurance policy for no reason. They claim we did not cooperate with inspectors. No one has notified us any inspection desired. So they are flat out lying. I was informed that they were canceling other churches insurances also. Honestly seems like discrimination against religion.

I switched to progressive because my rates more than doubled at my annual renewal time, but I pay monthly. They still took a full payment out of my account....because they say that it is scheduled a month in advance and cannot be stopped. Then when it was time to issue my refund, it was for only 8% of what they took for payment. I have been fighting with them for over 2 months now with no resolution as to why they refunded so little of my payment. I am not hopeful for any resolution to my issue. They are HORRIBLE about responding to anything. $230 isn't much but it would go a long way being in my pocket where it belongs rather than theirs. Can I charge them interest on this? What is the going interest rate right now?

The WORST customer service service ever, so rude, unprofessional, the (adjuster chastine ********) her comments are so unprofessional, wonder if she talks to all her clients like she does to us and she NEVER returns your phone call. You would think they would be there to help you, but not the case. All the lies, bullying us and the rude comments are uncalled for. In 2023 will be a year the claim is still open. I would NEVER recommend this insurance company to anyone. And I can see why this company scores so low after reading the reviews. Just sad what they have put are family through, all the mental stress, financial stress, and bullying us. It’s sad you employee people like chastine ******** to represent your company.

You will save money with any other auto insurance, trust me. I had my auto insurance cancelled because I switched to Progressive where with the same auto policy saves me $400 every 6 months. They still took my monthly payment out of my account and aren't sending me a refund until two weeks later via mail.

Never, ever get your insurance through this company. My husband and I had auto/home through them for many years. Recently we decided to shop around to see if we could get the same coverage cheaper anywhere else because Grinnell's rates were getting out of line. When we switched to State Farm, I notified Grinnell and a few weeks later we received a bill from Grinnell with our final amount owed to close the account. I wrote them a check a week later, on August 11th and mailed it the same day. On August 29th I received a letter from a collection agency stating i never paid the bill. I checked my bank account and the check had been cashed. Grinnell claimed they never received the check, the collection agency **************** would not give me any info over the phone either. After about 6 phone call and a lot of stress, I found out Grinnell did cash the check and my account was closed. So why was it sent to collections then? Is that how they treat people just because they found better insurance? It's not my fault they are so ****** expensive of basic insurance. I will not be revisiting their insurance ever again next time I shop around to compare. They are sore losers and not to be trusted. STAY AWAY.
