The tax filing services were terrific. The bookkeeping, financial statement, and payroll services were horrendous.Long story short, our experience was: documents requested, documents sent, documents requested, (was terrifying feeling realizing that youre accounting firm is disorganized to the point that theyre losing emails) we were confused. The confusion was cleared when we received the invoices we were charged for communication-time caused by their loss of records. Our engagement letters scope of services included: financial statements, payroll services, and tax filing. The tax filing was done promptly, and was easy to work with. The financial statements weve yet to see them after 7 months of invoicing for them to us.Payroll they began to entertain the processing of payroll 7 months after we entered into the engagement, informing us that were liable for late processing fees.Overall: good people at the branch, plagued by a bad company.

      Dear *****,

We appreciate the time you took to share your feedback with us. We are glad that you had a good experience with our tax services that included both completing 2022 tax filing and helping you catch up 2021 tax filing that was long past due.

As for payroll service, our understanding was you wanted to focus on getting the financials and taxes done first, as they were required by the banks and 2021 tax filing was long overdue. We could not perform payroll service until you had started to furnish workershours worked and other relevant information for each pay period.

We are sorry to hear our accounting service didnt meet your expectations, but I want to assure you that our team worked diligently and exercised great care in preparing the financial statements for you accordingly to accounting standards. Our staff work records indicate that our emails and text messages requesting accountant login to your bank account or copies of bank statements were not responded for weeks, we encountered loan accounts that were not previously disclosed to us and we had to request loan documents and loan statements, and we needed to spend time communicating with your bank back and forth due to certain typos by the bank or banker. We wish you had provided more specific info in your complaint, e.g. the exact documents (such as specific bank statement or loan documents) that you provided that were not timely upload to our client document database, as this would help us identify and cure the deficiencies in our file management system or our staff communications and workflows.

If there is anything specific you would like us to address or discuss further, please feel free to reach out to *** at Community CPA directly. We are glad to spend more time to come to a better understanding so we can help you remit the remaining balance owed.

Discrimination and fraud. Will withdraw money from your bank without authorization prior to doing so. “New accounts”, aka hispanic accounts charged extra when this company filed taxes 2 months after deadline and charged customer for extension fee, even though Community CPA had all documentation prior to tax filing deadline. I have proof. Run, run fast unless you want to be discriminated against and taken advantage of.

First and foremost, please note the review submitted by Wendy [id: 49682 [email protected]] accusing “Discrimination and fraud” is not from a client of ours, although Wendy did contact our firm on behalf of a client of ours. So the review provided wasn’t from a client directly; rather, it’s from someone who was doing her job while being paid presumably, and the accusations are completely groundless. She said she is calling from consumer advocate office as though she is calling from Iowa Attorney General office at the OCA office, but talked to the director of the OCA office and confirmed there is no lady by the name of Wendy working over there. Secondly, the client in question provided tax docs on or about 3/29/23 and made a required downpayment by card in the amount of our firm’s minimum tax preparation fee. Subsequently the client provided missing tax docs on or about 4/7/23, 4/8/23 and 6/14/23. The tax docs provided by the client on or about 4/7/23 contained a summary signed/dated 4/6/23 with a check-marked list of missing docs - all but one of the items on the list were checked off - and the client did not provide the missing item before the regular tax filing deadline. An extension of time to file the tax return was timely filed with IRS by our firm, and our preparation of the tax return was completed on 6/14/23 with the last piece of info obtained on that day. E-filing authorization forms and tax preparation invoice (showing an amount being higher than the prepaid minimum fee) was emailed to the client on 6/14/23; the client on 6/15/23 emailed back confirming completion of signing and explicitly authorizing us to set up ACH payment of our fees with her bank info (bank name, routing # and account #). So we ACH-debited the client’s bank account for the balance of our fees. But the next thing we knew, the client had her bank retracted the ACHed payment claiming unauthorized, and Wendy (the person writing the review) contacted our office on the client’s behalf claiming the same yet never provided her email address despite a verbal promise to provide it to us. Yes, we have proof for everything being said here (well, except Wendy’s verbal promise last mentioned as we didn’t record the conversation). Fraud? then who is the fraudster? - definitely NOT our firm in the eyes of any reasonable person. Last but not least, discrimination? On what basis and who is the discriminator? Suffice to say that our staff team of more than 30 professionals consists of more women than men, and of persons of different races - Hispanics, Asians, Caucasians, (all plural), etc.; and that our clients are just as diverse as our staff in race, gender, language, and everything. Our firm in the last 25+ years, never been accused of such things. We are proud of our diverse culture at Community CPA and take pride in serving our diverse business communities for many years,
