Stay far far away from here if you want to volunteer. ***, the founder of the rescue behaves kind and empathetic when in front of a camera but is a mean, manipulative and disrespectful to volunteers and staff. Shes developed a reputation in the veterinary community to where she cant keep a vet and no one wants to help. She kicks out volunteers for expressing concerns - people fear speaking up because of retaliation.

In the past 16 years, we have had three vets work for us. One Vet retired. One vet went to work with large animals instead of small animals. The last vet attempted to install her own euthanasia protocol without discussing with the board and attempted to kill one of our dogs without discussing it with anyone. The dog did not need to be euthanized. When I asked to have a discussion about this, this vet decided to quit instead. Since her departure, four different clinics have asked to work with us, which we are currently doing.  Therefore, the comments from this person regarding our reputation in the ************* are unfounded. Additionally, this person was putting slanderous remarks on our internal ******** pages and sending threatening messages to each board member. Therefore, she was removed from volunteering.  We do not tolerate that type of behavior. We cannot have a hostile work environment for our volunteers or our staff members.

DO NOT VOLUNTEER HERE. I made that mistake. Take your time somewhere youre actually moderately appreciated and treated somewhat well. Just because youre a volunteer doesnt mean the staff can treat you like c*** as it seems to here.********************************* (Volunteer Coordinator) will tell you to ask questions then treat you poorly for asking questions. She seemed to have a better than you attitude because she actually work at the rescue unlike you. I had previously talked with her about the *** letting people take dogs out for a day and she told me I could take one out sometime after they get used to me. Weeks later I asked to treat sweet Navy to a walk at *********** or even just some time at the ******** that is ON the property at *****. Just a little free time for her away from her kennel. I spent so much time with her. While making dinner rounds I would sit in her kennel for a bit petting and spoiling her. Shes an incredible girl! Simply asking ********* questions, just questions, about it and Im told, if you cant follow the rules this isnt the place for you. Questions are against the rules apparently. How exactly are we suppose to learn the rules then *********? With that I was done with ***** and have taken my time elsewhere. Its sad someone new can ****** and are given a dog to take home but a volunteer who has several dogs of their own, over a decade experience with dogs, some experience working with and transporting from a rescue in *******, ***** where strays are euthanized in just 7 days **** and numerous hours spent volunteering and bonding with the dogs on site but cant be trusted to take a single dog to the onsite dog park for 10 minutes. Dont even bother attempting to contact ***************** as she seems to have the same attitude as ********* except, like children do, *** will completely ignore you when you attempt to talk. Their actions made it very clear how little volunteers seem to mean although ***** would absolutely crumble without them.

The owner was very rude to me and my husband upon trying to pick our dog up. She lied in a response to my review that I added. Tried to slander me and my husband we did involved the police in *********** for ****** reasons due to how irate she was also ************************, which told her she has to give ** our dog back. Extremely unprofessional especially due to our sensitive situation. She never gave us a chance to let her know our full situation nor did she ask for any paperwork which we provided to the authorities due to her not being professional and asking to see anything.
