  They have predatory pricing techniques after telling you they are giving you a free portrait session. Stay away from them at all costs. I dont believe their pricing model is legal.

They are not a client of our studio and have never scheduled or attended a session or appointment with us. Our gifted portrait experience includes a complimentary session and a fine art portrait credit, and while many families choose to purchase additional artwork, there is no obligation to do so. We are clear about our process, and our pricing information is shared in multiple touchpoints before the session, including through our phone calls, emails, our planning guide, and our website. We respectfully stand by the integrity of our process and welcome any direct communication to clarify questions or concerns.   From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated with such warmth and professionalism. The team was patient, kind, and upfront about the entire process, which put us at ease right away. They made the whole experience feel completely tailored to our family nothing felt rushed or cookie-cutter.What truly stood out was how amazing they were with our children, especially our 3-year-old, who was a bit out of sorts since it was usually her nap time. The team knew exactly how to engage with her and keep her comfortable, which made the session feel relaxed and fun for everyone. Their ability to create a calm and supportive atmosphere was truly impressive.And the portraits absolutely jaw-dropping! They captured the heart and soul of our family in a way that feels timeless. These are not just pictures; they are heirlooms that will be passed down for generations. We cannot stress enough how meaningful this experience was and how much these pieces will remain at the heart of our home, even long after were gone.If you're looking for a portrait studio that truly cares about creating something special and lasting, this is the place.   Got a call that I "won" a portrait. It already seemed shady because she was over the moon excited that I "won". It's not hard to win. I believe they tell everyone who enters that they win. I'm glad I read reviews because I knew they were being very sales oriented. I'm not paying a deposit for something I supposedly won. ******* suggested I put it on a credit card. Maybe change your attitude and business model. This is clearly not working for you guys. They also have job postings on indeed for $13-16 an hour yet they charge thousands of dollars for pictures. This doesn't check out. Would have been a waste of time for everyone involved. I wouldn't have budged with their sales tactics. There pictures are hardly worth thousands of dollars.

Our gifted portrait experience includes a portrait, and while additional artwork is available for purchase, there is no obligation to buy. A fully refundable retainer is collected to reserve session time, which is clearly communicated upfront. We understand that our experience may not be the right fit for everyone, and we wish you the best in finding a studio that aligns with your needs.

  My family has used Dahlberg Portraits one more than one occasion and we recently went back, as it was time to update our family portrait. Booking the appointment was easy and the staff were very communicative. I had some questions about outfits prior that they were able to assist with this as well. I appreciated the timeliness of starting the appointment on time, and they let us know prior to the appointment how much time to reserve for the session. The talented photographer was able to capture just the right moments (which can be challenging with a dog in the photo as well), but they did it! We were able to pick out the images that we loved the most, and were very pleased that there were many great photos that were captured to choose from. We chose the portrait size/package that was the best for us both financially and for our space. The images that you pick from will still be edited before you receive your product (obviously), and the timing of when we would receive our portrait was made clear. When we received our portrait in the mail--it was amazing! We could not wait to get it hung. The little bit of element of surprise to see the final product is worth it--you can digitally see a photo but having the beautiful printed piece of artwork in real life is really something else! I have seen Dahlberg Portraits appear on friend's social media and even in a couple of my medical providers' offices--you can immediately tell that it's a Dahlberg Portrait. I'm not aware of anyone else in **** (or the Midwest) who offers the same style of beautiful family portraits as Dahlberg Portraits. They are worth the drive and the time to come see and experience.

  First I want to say how AMAZING every single one of the staff that helped us at Dahlberg Portraits!! To be honest they treated us like we were family and were so patient and kind to my little boy. My little guy was born with Down Syndrome and has issues with sensory and they did everything they could to help him feel comfortable. We both had such a great time. I also loved how I got to go to a separate room to take a look at the pictures while they had my son in their playroom with a sitter. I would highly recommend Dahlberg Portraits if you want an absolutely amazing experience and great photos.

  My wife "won" a credit package to Dahlbergs. Assuming we were just going for a nice family portrait session, this is not the case.While the place is absolutely professional, and the photographer took amazing pictures.....it's all a scam.after the picture session, you're removed from your children so they can go play...all while dahlberg's sales *** tries to sell you fancy pictures that costs up to 10k per picture.And unless you pay for any of these pictures, you do not receive any digital copies of your pictures.The credit that my wife won....doesn't even come close to covering pictures that they offer, unless you want a $1000 8x10.Very deceitful and would never recommend this business.

If they were, they would understandably require an additional purchase, as is standard practice for businesses to offer products for purchase. It is important to clarify that our pricing does not include $1,000 for an 8x10 portrait.   A great experience and wonderful to work with. We had family portraits made with our 1 year old and ****** was amazing to work with. The way she was able to capture the attention of our child to make a beautiful work of art is unmatched. We will definitely be returning for updated portraits!

  When a business tells you that you have to make a decision to purchase their product then and there or there will not be another chance, RUN! I am not about to make a decision on an investment such as this without spending some time discussing with my spouse and looking over our finances. Don't tell me that once I leave the pictures will be released and no order can be made. I know for a fact that the pictures were taken digitally and they didn't self destruct when we walked out...it's really too bad as we had every intention of actually making a purchase but wanted to do some measuring at home and figure out which size worked best for us physically and financially.

  Recently, my son and I were able to go through the entire experience at Dahlberg Portraits. I won a 14" portrait and photography session through a giveaway. The entire experience was smooth, Megan called me and made sure I knew everything that was expected beforehand, and they emailed me with information and a link to make sure that everything was communicated clearly and that I would be prepared for the session. The day of, we arrived and spent a few minutes in their waiting room. There is plenty of space to get ready for any size of family with seating for 5 people. The session with the photographer Shae and assistant Erica was phenomenal. They made my son and I feel comfortable and made the photography session go by in the blink of an eye, and got some magical moments spurred by their great work, and personalities. After the photography session, we went back to the waiting room and relaxed a bit while they got ready to show me photos from the session. Once they were ready, they came and got me and my son. Claire watched my son, making sure he had a good time while I was busy. She went above and beyond keeping an eye on him briefly after the session while I had some additional questions. I was walked through photos from the session, as well as educated on what makes a fine art portrait, fine art. They then helped me visualize what each size of portrait would look like and helped me choose my favorite photos from the session. They broke down the prices of each portrait size, as well as what comes with each portrait size. They worked with me, my budget, and where I was coming from while helping me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. I look forward to receiving my portrait and having it as a cherished memory for myself and my son in the future! If there is anyone I have forgotten in this, I apologize. You all were amazing and it was not just a highlight of my day, it was a highlight of my son's day as well.

  I wish they were upfront about their business practice. The photos are beautiful. Dont get me wrong there. Its the win a photo shoot but have to put down $200 to save your appointment and then use high pressure sales tactics. They do not have upfront pricing on their website and make you decide what photos you want the day of before edits are made. You then must sign a contract saying you wont back out of your order before you leave the appointment that Is what I have the problem with. I was going to just let it slide and not review, but then I heard of it happening to someone else too and I dont want it to keep happening again and again since they giveaway a photo shoot every week. Please be aware they will try to charm you into spending a MINIMUM of $1000, and that is after your $1000 discount. You look at the photos starting at the largest size and working down before you even know pricing. They get you to say what size you think you want then whip out the pricing chart. That chart ranges from $500-$10,000. Yes that is 10 grand for a photo. A 20 photo is $2500. After your coupon it gets it down to $1500. Maybe they do what they did with us and offer to take another $500 off if we frame it ourselves. And they throw in the same coupon for $1000 off in a few years so you can come back later. This is a tricky business to go to for photos as you dont know what you are getting into ahead of time. Beautiful photos but IMO too high pressure to be worth what they are charging. My grandparents owned a photo studio and I know her markup here is insane. Buyer be aware of what you are getting into. I have been contacted since the review and asked if we wanted a refund. Like I said before the photos are great. I said no to the refund as I dont want that to be a reason to have to take down this honest review when it could be helpful for someone else.
