*********************, audiologist took impressions of my ears and ordered hearing aids for me. One hearing aid fell out and I explained to her that the hearing aids were too big for my ears. This, evidently was a loaner set because she then told me that she had another set (same model) for me. The right hearing aid fell out twice and the second time the hearing aid was lost. I had also explained to her that this set of hearing aids are too big for my ears. She wanted to come do yet another set of impressions even though I had to have that model according to the contract. Being an audiologist, she should have known from the first impressions made that the two sets of the same model were never going to work out. Oh and I was going to be charged $400.00 for her to come back to my house. Two days ago she said "Oh good news, we can add an extension to a right hearing aid and also a helix lock but cannot change the model"!!!!!! The picture she sent with the additions showed a very ugly hearing aid. Now I am out $5000.00 and again I cannot hear. This, to me, was fraudulence.

When I first saw this patient back in April, she had lost one of her hearing aids. It is true that the initial set of hearing aids did not fit as well as they should have, so another set was made with modifications for better fit. She was told prior to ordering these hearing aids that they would not be small due to the fact that they are rechargeable and have bluetooth; 2 features which she was very excited to have. When I returned a couple of weeks later to fit the new hearing aids, she did tell me that the hearing aid had fallen out and I reminded her that was why I had them remade. Since that time (May 2022), up until August when she called to tell me that she had lost the hearing aid, I had either seen or spoken to her at least eight times and not ONCE did she mention any issues with fit. She mentioned on several occasions that she and her family were very happy and even wrote a wonderful review on our website: https://audiologyoncall.com/leave-a-review/.I understand that she is frustrated, however, per the contract that she signed, there is a $400 deductible for a loss/damage replacement, HOWEVER, the manufacturer agreed to waive that (which has never been done before in my experience) and I agreed to waive my service fee as well. It is the manufacturers' policy (all of them) that a replacement hearing aid MUST be the same model as the one that is being replaced. I have asked them to make further modifications for better fit/retention to try to prevent this from happening again. I have been an Audiologist for almost 30 years, and I have never had a complaint filed with the BBB. I feel that the manufacturer and myself have gone above and beyond and unfortunately, it is just not good enough to make her happy.
