  I was referred to the ************ location, and when I called my appointment was scheduled 2 months out I was told my insurance was covered. I provided them with my insurance cards and information just for no one to call and verify that I actually was covered for my visit. On the day of my consultation, I provided the front desk once more with my insurance cards, at this point, no one has still informed me that I have no coverage with them. After my consultation, which was just looking at my X- Rays and talking to the doctor, I then finally was able to speak to someone for billing. This is when I was told that I would have no coverage and that I would be responsible for a consultation fee of $170. I left so upset and in tears because I expected everything to go smoothly but really I was told to open a credit card to pay for my $3000 surgery. If I was informed that my insurance was out of network, I would have just gone to another office where my insurance was accepted. The issue is that I was not informed that I wasn't covered. When I went to the office to talk to someone about the charge, they were very rude and didn't even show the slightest understanding of the situation. In fact, they let me know that they will never actually call patients' insurance until after they see the doctor because that is too much work for them to call twice. I did everything I could to explain my situation but no one cared to understand. I left again in tears. I paid my balance just so I would never have to walk into one of their offices again. It isn't fair to take advantage of people, this office should have been upfront and did their job to avoid situations like mine because I know that I am not the only person that has had to go through this.
