I engaged this company through their Google Lakeland ad touting "Garage Door Services (GDS) in Lakeland, FL." with a Toll-Free number, which should have been a Red Flag to me as a local resident. I called & scheduled a Free Estimate for installing our new garage door opener. June 10, 2024, GDS rep, Sean, came out & after several quotes and pressuring me to purchase GDS's 3-yr Warranty, we were able to able to agree on an "Out-the-Door" installation price of $668.00. Sean insisted "He could do the install of my newly purchased Chamberlain Ultra-Quiet Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener with Accessories (Chamberlain) in a few hours that same day to avoid a return trip and service call." Sean installed our Chamberlain, including Safety Sensor Kit & Wireless Keypad. Nov. 29, 2024, our garage door would not open. I called GDS off & on all day with no answer. I started this same process again the following day calling GDS off & on all day again with no answer. Finally, I did a little research and learned MOL GDS is a d/b/a name of the parent company, Olympus Garage Door of Venice (Olympus). I called Olympus, explained my problem, provided my name, address & phone number & was told by the female person taking my call, "They could have someone out to repair the garage door at 10:00 AM the next day, Dec. 1, 2024." At 11:00 AM the next morning, Jose, Olympus/GDS Tech, arrived at our home. I showed him our inoperable garage door. Jose set about determining the problem with the garage door & approx. 25 minutes later advised me, "He checked the Chamberlain & everything was working fine, but he determined the "sensors were bad" & needed to be replaced at a cost of $195. I showed him my GDS invoice reflecting their 3 Yr. Warranty. Jose called his Supv., John L, who allegedly told him, "It's a Service Charge." I paid the $195 Charge with my MasterCard writing when I signed his computer tablet with my finger, "Disputed Charge."

My garage door had broken springs I had to get my wife to the doctor. I called a few places. This company responded almost immediately. He was able to open door and and removed the broken spring .He then quoted me an outrageous price. He was going to charge me several hundred dollars if I did not give him the job.I felt pressured to resolve this and so I agreed to a lower price which was sill too high. He proceeded to install two mismatched springs which he labored to get them to work. They lasted one week and broke.. I had to call another company to replace the broken springs'.Do not deal with this company under any circumstances.

I recently had Garage Door Service respond to my residence ro repair my a 1 year old garage door that wouldn't work. I was told that the springs needed to be replaced. After the scammer disassembled the door springs he told he it would cost me $1800. I quickly searched and found the springs for $130 each and showed him. He proceeded to tell me they were guaranteed for ten years. He then told me that for $800 he would replace the springs but would not offer any warranty on his work. The receipt I saw displayed the name of the company as Garage Door Service 855 5xx-3687. The other number associated with them was 239 347-14xx. Beware of the scam and price gouging. The springs he replaced were 1 year old and intact. The guy drove a blue Nissan pick-up truck and wore a black tee shirt. Stated that he was 23 years old from Israel and recently discharged from the army. I do have pictures of him and his vehicle. I had to xxx out the number before it let me post my complaint.

I called them because my springs had broken on my garage door. This was May 27, 2024. I asked for a quote over the phone and was only told that someone would be there in an hour. DFaniel arrived at 1:15. I asked how much it would cost, he said anywhere from $200 to $1,000. Proceeded then to take off the springs and then ask me if I would pay $1,814.00. I said yes because he already took of the old springs. After he installed the new springs he was trying to sell me a new motor and keypad and opener for $4,500.00. I told him I don't have that kind of money and said no. At this time the garage door would not close all the way. He kept saying it was my problem now. At which point i told him I was not going to pay him unless the job was done. He threatened me to call the police at least 3 or 4 times and I said go ahead. This continued with him blaming me and threating me to call the police for a good hour. Then he replaced my motor for "free" he said. I now have to replace my keypad and reprogram my car When the garage door was finally working right, he told me I would need to pay an extra $995.00 for the drums that comes with the springs. So for a bill that was only going to be $1,814.00 I paid $3,184 He tried to charge me $1814 for each spring(which I needed 3) again I said no and he argued with me again. After I paid I had to ask him to clean up my garage as he was leaving to go to his truck. He did through everything in my garbage can. He was very argumentative and disrespectful.

I was overcharged based on previous sales. Work was not completed as promised, outdoor keypad device needs to be calibrated and installed. Told that the outdoor device I just purchased would not work with the type openerer they installed. I was promised that they would come back and install a new keypad. I bought a new keypad only to learn that the current one could be re-programmed for the opener they installed. I was promised they would provide the manual and install /reprogram the outside keypad today. Did Not happen. I need the manual to compare prices online but more importantly, I need it to make future changes or repairs. Based on a carbon invoice left on the invoice pad, I can see that I was charged $400. more than the previous customer for the opener. Neither invoice has the manufactuer's name or model #. I want the manual, the keypad reprogrammed and a refund of $400.

“Garage Door Service” would not give me a phone estimate to change the 2 springs (1 broke) on my garage door. So, I ok’d them to come out to provide an estimate but to call me before coming. I continued to call companies, wanting to find someone that could give me a price over the phone. Another company did (man named Eden) and I agreed for them to do the work. I called Garage Door Service and canceled the estimate. After a couple hours I get a call from someone who rudely asks,” What’s wrong with your garage door?“ I asked him if he worked for Eden. He ignored me and rudely asked again, “What’s wrong with your garage door?” I again asked if he worked for Eden. He said that he did and I answered his question along with explaining the deal that Eden and I had agreed upon. The technician arrived and started working. About halfway into the job Eden shows up and is not happy to see a stranger doing his job. I confronted the man and said,” You told me, you worked for Eden! “ A very unique first name! He claimed he worked with an Eden. Eden, though frustrated, left graciously. This is the rudest customer service I had ever experienced. When the technician started the job, he rudely said to me, “Did you need something?”, wanting me to leave. During the job, I asked him a couple of questions about spring size, and he simply ignored me. When the job was completed, he showed me how the door moved smoothly up and down manually. I tried it, and the door felt very heavy. I asked him what the weight should be. His answer to me was, “I don’t know.“ I learned later the weight of the door should be close to 0 lbs. A set of scales showed the door weighed 58+ lbs. I compared the new springs with the old ones and saw that the wrong springs were installed. I believe this technician had lied to me several times. I didn’t want him back and had another company fix the springs. They said they have gotten rid of the technician but are now ignoring my request for a refund. I suspect a scam.
