      If I could give it a no star I would . This is by far the worst and most unsanitary office I have ever visited. My appointment was scheduled for 1:30 PM, and I arrived at 12:50 PM to check in. Around 3:00 PM, I had still not been called, so I went to the front desk and was informed that my appointment had been canceled for an unknown reason. They then put me back on the list and placed me in another room for an additional hour. When I spoke with the mammogram technician, she asked for paperwork, and I inquired what paperwork she meant, as no one had given me any. I had to go back to the front desk to obtain the paperwork, fill it out, and wait for another 20 minutes. This was four hours after my scheduled appointment time. When I requested to speak with a manager, they stated she was in a meeting. No one apologized or showed empathy. Everyone was rude and unprofessional.

      DO NOT GO TO AKUMIN at ***************. The *** equipment is so old and the tech gave me headphones which had loud music playing. I thought that was to keep you relax during the process while being in the tube. The headphones are to mask the horrible, loud noises this old machines makes for ***** minutes.Also, the results come in a CD,..who in the world still has CD player. They get away charging $300 for a ***, while does Machines are almost obsolete. I had to ask for a gown to get one. Very casual and not professional stuff. I have no clue this was going to be a terrible experience, it was, like being in a concentrate camp where you are tortured with loud noises that could damage your hearing and affect your ******** NOT GO THERE!

      I had a gut feeling when the people behind the desk were wearing normal people clothes and not in professional clothing. Also eating behind the desk. Then during my mammogram the technician was very unfriendly and genuinely hurt me during her quick exam. Its uncomfortable enough. I thought one more chance. I had a breast ***, the technician was great but the contract didnt go in the last 15 minutes so we had to redo it which is difficult when you have Parkinsons. Then I had the *** 4/19 it 5/2 and still waiting! Not going back!

      I am first going to say if you want your time wasted then you could go to Akumin. These people called me three times yesterday sent me numerous texts. I arrived for an appointment at 7:30 AM for a scan and the next appointment was for 8 AM for an x-ray., when I got there; they said scan is for 12 noon, now I have all the text; for both appointments I called 800 number. She also telling me that its noon I dont feel like wasting my time on my energy anymore with this company I told him to cancel both appointments and I will come and pick my mother up, which when I got there my mother was on the table doing the scan I think they feel that people have nothing better to do then sit around and wait for their appointment and then they change those appointment at ***, I called my mother doctor and ask him to do not schedule any more scans or x-rays through this company because the reminders are ridiculous and they send you 1000 reminders and the date of the appointment. They will call and cancel like they did last week and two weeks before I am just tired and I dont wanna deal with them anymore.

      I had an appointment on January 27 at 2:10 PM, and I cannot believe this company is still in business. From start to finish, the experience was one of the worst Ive ever had at a medical facility. I arrived on time for my scheduled X-ray and was met with an empty waiting room, yet I was still forced to wait for over ************************************************************* just indifference. The front desk staff was atrocious. There were two employeesa man and a woman. The gentleman was abrasive and insensitive, not just toward me but to every single person who walked through the door. He spoke in a condescending, dismissive manner, assuming everyone should already understand the complexities of healthcare and insurance. Not everyone does, and its their job to helpnot belittle. While waiting, I overheard both staff members openly complaining about their jobsbadmouthing the workplace, complaining about how terrible it was to work there, and worst of all, mocking the patients who came in. The complete lack of professionalism was shocking.This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable in a medical environment, where patients should feel safe and respected. I'm a nurse and I should know . I cannot stress enough how unprofessional, rude, and uncaring this facility is. If you have a choice, go anywhere else for imaging services.

      On December 17, 2024, I was scheduled for 3 MRI Scans involving my spine. The Port Charlotte, FL Akumin facility appeared to be recently remodeled with an impressive waiting area including televisions, coffee stand, etc. I was escorted to the MRI in a timely manner by 2 technicians. After conducting a brief interview and explaining the procedure which they estimated to not require more than one hour, I was then assisted onto the gantry. They inserted a port which was for dye injection use after conducting the MRI's without dye and provided me with an emergency plunger should it be needed. They then began the MRI with dye after some time. While it is somewhat difficult to judge time accurately while in the 'tube,' I knew it had been much longer than one hour lying motionless. The skin on my back felt burned, and I was perspiring tremendously. I felt excruciating pain in my back and chose to press the emergency button. I insisted I be removed from the 'tube' immediately to which they responded it wouldn't be much longer. I demanded to be released immediately. Upon release, I was unable to move let alone rise from the gantry. Both technicians had to lift me, and still in tremendous pain, they placed me into a wheelchair. I had walked in but had to leave in a wheelchair as I was unable to walk. I had been in the 'tube' for 2 hours and 23 minutes lying motionless! I was furious! They apologized and blamed my oncologist for scheduling too many scans, then blamed the Siemens equipment tech who was supposed to observe my scans but had "disappeared." They indicated this was brand new equipment just installed. It was evident to me neither one of these technicians knew what they were doing. BE CAREFUL - BE VERY CAUTIOUS OF THIS FACILITY.

      This facility failed to properly keep my personal information safe. Failure to properly have appropriate secure software, which allowed thieves to steal my data. Akumin notified me via letter, the letter was UNAPOLOGETIC and generic. Do Not Use this facility!

      +20 calls starting at 7:30 a.m. three in a row at a time over the course of 3 days the day before Christmas two days after new years. Not to mention the emails and texts.Harassment to get me to schedule an appointment. These are automated calls

      I will NEVER refer anyone to Akumin or go there myself again! I wish there was a NEGATIVE RATING I could provide! I had a special mammogram that needed to be done and was advised I needed the Akumin images by another radiology company. I called the 66th St N location on Wednesday, Dec 18th and asked for the images to be prepared for pick up and was told they would be available that afternoon. I advised I wouldn’t be able to picked them up until at least Friday, the 20th. The agent stated no worries they will be available on demand and waiting for me at the front desk. Today I had a 9:15 appt for the mammogram and arrived at Akumin at 8:30 am to pick up my CD of the images. I was told they had no record of the request and that they were having issues with corporate obtaining emails with requests for image copies. I advised that I had a 9:15 appointment and needed the images ASAP as promised. The front desk did not apologize but instead blamed it on corporate, stating there have been issues for 2 months with communication between them corporate. 45 minutes later the CD was ready after I continually asked the front desk on the status of the CD. At 9am I had no choice but to cancel My new mammogram and reschedule. I did it in front of the front desk staff but they were oblivious to my strife! And again, no apologies for my inconvenience! If you can AVOID this company, I would do so. I used to think they were fabulous, but unfortunately, it appears they have succumbed to the sterile, non- sympathetic way of other medical services companies! I am still a working Senior where Customer care is the utmost importance in my company. This is truly disappointing!

      Scheduled appt for 8:30am with 8:15 arrival. I arrived at 8:05am. Was not even given standard paperwork until 20 min after my scheduled appt time. After seeing the entire waiting room empty and refilled with new appts, I asked how much longer. I was told they were double booked and the Tech is just taking patients from the schedule. I explained my wait and that everyone including patients who arrived much later than I arrived have been seen. I was given same explanation except I would be waiting an additional 30 min. I take time off work for appt and wait 2.5 hours for a thirty minute appt. Awful customer service. No thought or care for patients. Never again!
