  Do not hire K-Char. ******* is a smooth-talking liar that will cut corners and in the end abandon you with an unfinished list of items not fixed. He will write a contract that relieves K-Char from any semblance of responsibility in terms of time or cost. He'll estimate an "allowance" budget, and when costs run over he'll just bill you... and add 15% profit on just about anything. My project with K-Char was supposed to take 8 months, the bank construction loan provided 1 year. Well, ******* made no apologies for taking 2 years to finish, forcing me to spend thousands of dollars in refinancing fees to extend the loan twice. He underestimated or neglected to account for major items, such as a sewer system that was estimated at $10,000 but cost $28,000, support beams that were structurally required but not estimated, another $7500. Guess what? I had to pay cash out of pocket for all of this and dozens of other nickel and dime items. The worst part is how I as a customer was treated. First, repeated phone calls, text messages, and e-mails all ignored. I was friendly, I was cordial and tried to be helpful to remind of things that needed to be done... but in the end it was typical to go days or even weeks with no contact, no activity, nothing. When I did finally get a response, it was all excuses that everyone from subs to inspectors were at fault. Promises routinely broken with no apology or offer to make things right. Just week after week then month after month of little or no progress. The inspection history on my permit has 10 pages of failed and canceled inspections for all kinds of stupid reasons (web site ePZB / permit tracking, search for Company "k char", pull up a permit with description "Addition - Residential" and then select "Inpection History". You can see it yourself. Further, 8 months after "completion" there's still unfinished work and punch-list items not fixed. Don't hire K-Char, you'll regret it. I sure did.
