My husband and I were hesitant to enter into an agreement with Wyndham Vacations, due to the high cost. I was also shocked to discover that a credit card account had been opened in my name without my express consent as I only use and monitor two personal cards. Multiple individuals said someone from Club Wyndham would reach out to help me book vacations, yet I received no follow-up communication and was at a loss trying to schedule something. While reviewing the contract, I came across Section 9 labeled "Termination," which led me to believe that cancellation was an option. But when I contacted the main phone line to inquire about this, I was told I did not qualify. On another trip, I was told to attend another sales meeting, which I did with my husband under the impression this was mandatory. They pushed for an upgrade to a higher level of membership, and I was convinced by the promise of a buy-out option. But once again, critical details were not disclosed, such as the specific requirement to exit the contract. Our salesperson explicitly said that I would never have to attend another meeting again and that he would personally be available to assist me moving forward. However, after several attempts to reach him post-trip, I received no response and had to call the main customer service number for answers. When I again inquired about canceling my membership based on the buy-out clause, I was told that all my mortgages needed to be paid off to qualify-something that was never mentioned in the upgrade meeting. Throughout my interactions, I repeatedly disclosed that my husband suffers from Alzheimer's disease and frequently becomes disoriented and was no longer mentally competent to understand or consent, and he has no clue that we are members of a timeshare club. Now at over 75 years of age, our ability to travel is becoming more limited as our health deteriorates, especially as I am unable to travel alone with my husband due to his severe medical issues

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the timeshare membership I purchased from Trendwest after attending a high-pressure sales presentation Despite being assured this was a wise investment that guaranteed easy and flexible vacations, the experience has fallen far short of expectations. It has been extremely difficult to reserve vacations when needed, as availability is limited and often requires booking over 13 months in advance – an unrealistic timeframe given our work schedules. On top of that, we have had stays disrupted by issues like overbooking and nonfunctional amenities such as swimming pools. Pushy marketing tactics from resort employees also interfere with our ability to relax during our vacations, and certain key financial details (including maintenance fee increases and point expirations) were not clearly disclosed during the sales process. The burden of ongoing costs, coupled with frequent unmet expectations, has made this timeshare more of a financial and logistical strain than anything else. We have attempted many times to communicate our issues to the company directly. However, we continue to be ignored. We need someone to reach out to us as soon as possible so we can discuss our cancellation options.

What started as an "informational session" with Shell Vacations Club quickly devolved into a nightmare of manipulation and financial regret. My partner and I were subjected to a grueling four-hour high-pressure sales marathon designed to break down our resistance
through psychological warfare. The salespeople employed every dirty trick: creating artificial urgency with "today-only" pricing, emotionally manipulating our relationship status, deliberately preventing us from taking breaks or discussing privately, and glossing
over the substantial financial obligations that would haunt us for years.

Despite repeatedly expressing hesitation, we were worn down by an endless parade of aggressive salespeople who wouldn't take no for an answer. They pushed us into applying for credit cards on the spot to finance a purchase we clearly didn't want. Seven years
later, we've paid over $33,000 for a timeshare we've never once used. The worst part? We're still trapped in this predatory contract with no end in sight. Shell Vacations Club doesn't sell vacation opportunities; they sell regret packaged as dreams. Their
business model relies on exhausted couples making poor financial decisions under duress. Save yourself the heartache and financial burden by running away from their presentations.

I did not receive the plan that we discussed. When I complained they ignored me. I finally stopped payments on $43,000,but this was after I had paid more than $29,000. This was my complaint. Their salesman placed 43,000 on three credit cards at 24.9 interest and told me if I had questions don't hesitate to call him. I presented Wyndham with my phone records showing more than fourty calls in eight months with no response. I asked Wyndham to explain why their salesman did not answer my calls. Again I was ignored. I have not made any payments since and I will not, until I receive a logical answer to my question. Instead of answering my question they referred my account to the credit bureau.
They took my credit score from 800 to 646 and it is still decreasing. My complaint was filed in December 2023, they gave me a case# but still has not responded to my question. I have two accounts with Wyndham #1 account 413,000 points that has been paid in full, #2 account that is worth 116,000 pts. I have not used any of these points. Wyndham's Vacation period runs from April 1st to March 31st. April 1st 2024 I had 413,000 points, 200,000 was used with my permission for for rental to non members. I was told I will have to split the cash with Wyndham, and if the vacation was not complete the points will be returned to my account. I have not received the cash, and the points haven't been returned to my account. This left 213,000, 116,000 pts that I don't ever plan on using. With the remaining points I tried to book a vacation and was told that my vacation was denied. I have 413,000 points that is fully paid, they charge $315 monthly on my credit card account for maintenance. Is this legal? I also found three vacations that was sold to non members in 2023 that Wyndham said was authorized by my wife, the problem is that my wife has never booked a vacation in our 14 years of ownership. Wyndham know that the salesman lied, only reason for not returning or answering calls.

After retiring and looking forward to relaxing getaways, my spouse and I made the catastrophic mistake of purchasing a Wyndham Vacation Ownership in October 2021. What was promised as a gateway to stress-free travel has become nothing but a financial drain and constant source of frustration. The sales presentation was riddled with blatant falsehoods. We were assured we could sell points back to Wyndham if needed—completely untrue! The promised 300,000 bonus points? Never materialized. The "easy booking" system? A joke. Every date we've tried to reserve has been mysteriously unavailable or blacked out. Our meager point allocation grants us a pathetic 5-6 vacation days annually, hardly worth the maintenance fees that continue to increase. Speaking of fees, the salesperson conveniently "forgot" to mention the additional resort fees that further erode any perceived value. Most infuriating is the constant pressure to upgrade to more points despite knowing we're retired on fixed incomes. The entire experience reeks of predatory sales tactics targeting seniors like us. We’ve paid off the mortgage but remain shackled to endless fees for a service we can barely use. My advice? RUN from Wyndham's timeshare presentations. Their promises evaporate faster than your hard-earned savings, leaving you with nothing but regret and a contract that feels impossible to escape

From the beginning the people of Wyndham congratulated me in the decision to be part of the Wyndham Family. The idea that Wyndham preaches about your “ownership family” is completely false. In the continued years of hard sell that one was foisted upon, always being applauded for the good choice of being part of The Windham Family; when one's health turned with a major heart attack thus creating economic hardships barely meeting my financial obligations as well as curtailing all travel; when formally petitioned to be excused and released from all commitments with Club Wyndham; heard no mention of FAMILY nor showed any concern for the personal situation now being faced. They even charged me a penalty for interest when I had to miss three months of my payments. What started out as a “cheap pre-paid vacation package” offered by Club Wyndham, had become the foundation of a Freddy Kruger movie; one nightmare after another. We were told that the time share purchase would be a “good investment” and a guarantee for access to vacation rooms at our scheduling convenience. All lies. Not only were we made false promises. We were intentionally worn down and taken advantage of. I also reached out as my life was flipped upside down with unexpected health issues, causing financial difficulties, and their representatives could care less.
We were promised that the time share purchase would have continued growth in the future and be a prime investment. The only continued growth we have seen from Wyndham was the need to purchase MORE points. We were tricked into wasting more and more money on something that has no resale value. We were also told that all fees associated with the time share purchase would not fluctuate. Once again, the falsehood that seems to be a fundamental principle of Club Wyndham.
I leave this review to warn others about Wyndham and stay away from this endless nightmare!
      WYNDHAM IS NO FAMILY.

What started as an innocent "free weekend" with a "short presentation" turned into a financial nightmare that continues to haunt our family. After attending Worldmark's sales pitch in Seaside, Oregon, we fell victim to high-pressure tactics and misrepresentations that have severely impacted our finances. The salespeople cleverly targeted us as new parents, suggesting we could pass ownership to our son—never mentioning the ever-increasing maintenance fees he'd inherit. They painted an unrealistic picture of "exclusive discounts," "free nights," and using credits for flights and cruises. In reality, availability is scarce, and the promised deals never materialize.
When we showed hesitation, they claimed, "special offers available today only" and brought in managers who boasted about multiple timeshare ownership—effectively manipulating us into signing. They even pushed their vacation club credit card, suggesting we'd earn points for "free" stays. Most egregiously, they never clearly explained cancellation options or the Total Interest Percentage. After an "upgrade" in November 2023 with more false promises, we've yet to take a single trip. This predatory contract has created genuine financial hardship as we transition from military life. We can't even visit family because of the monthly payments. Don't let their "free weekend" offers lure you into this trap.

Our recent stay at a Wyndham resort in Hawaii turned into a nightmare of broken promises and misleading sales tactics. What was supposed to be a "one-hour consultation" stretched into an exhausting three-hour pressure cooker designed to wear down our resistance.
The sales representative painted a bleak picture of our existing points ownership, insisting we needed to convert to their property ownership program or lose everything we'd invested. They heavily promoted the Hawaii location's special 2-for-1 point exchange
benefit—which Wyndham conveniently discontinued just months later in January 2025, rendering our expensive purchase no more valuable than what we previously owned. Perhaps most egregious was the promise of the Wyndham Extra Holidays rental program. We were
led to believe we could offset mortgage costs by renting out unused points, with Wyndham keeping 60% while we received 40%. The reality? Despite Wyndham using over 400,000 of our points for rentals, we haven't received a single payment. The entire experience
reeks of bait-and-switch tactics and deliberate misrepresentation. What was marketed as an investment opportunity has become a financial burden built on empty promises. I strongly caution anyone considering Wyndham ownership to look elsewhere—unless you enjoy
having your time wasted and your trust betrayed by a company that values profits over honest customer relationships.

As elderly retirees living solely on Social Security and a $63 monthly pension, my wife and I were targeted by Wyndham's predatory sales tactics that exploited our vulnerabilities. I suffer from Parkinson's disease with medication that affects my judgment, have severe hearing loss, and my wife speaks limited English—all factors the salespeople took advantage of during a grueling multi-hour presentation. Despite repeatedly stating we couldn't afford their "vacation club" (which they insisted wasn't a timeshare), they pressured us into signing a 41-page contract in tiny print and even opened a new credit card in my wife's name. The representative falsely claimed we could cancel anytime without penalty, never mentioning the actual 10-day cancellation window.

Our heartbreaking experience continued when maintenance fees began increasing immediately, contradicting their promises of stable costs. To add insult to injury, the visibly ill sales representative who conducted our meeting passed on a severe cold that left us sick for six weeks and forced me to delay urgent oral surgery. We're now trapped in an unaffordable contract that we didn't fully understand, desperately trying to get Wyndham's attention to cancel this agreement that's causing us immense financial strain and emotional distress in our golden years. We urge other seniors to avoid these high-pressure tactics that prey on vulnerability and misrepresent their product.
