    Wee purchased a $37,500 solar system. We have had permission to operate for 20 months and the system has been dead for over 5 of them. The inverter made by SolarEdge has failed 3 times. Tesla points fingers at SolarEdge and offers platitudes. Since this is costing me $200 a month in lost electricity, I would be willing to buy a spare inverter, but was told this would affect the warranty on the system. The model inverter I have is available from other dealers, but Tesla keeps lengthening the time it will take to replace mine. It is now 20 weeks and this is 3 months into the present failure. I asked to escalate this to a higher level in hopes of coming to an agreement to allow me to purchase and use my own inverter of the same model and it was refused by the "chat" specialist. If my car dealer can loan me a $35,000 car when our car is being repaired, it would seem reasonable for Tesla to have a loaner $2,500 inverter. I tried to make this no stars, but had to use 1.
