From approximately 11/6/19 thru 3/20/20, I received physical therapy services at Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers. As shown by my bill (included), I agreed to services at Fyzical as a self-pay patient, paying $65 per visit with the exception of the first visit where I was evaluated for the price of $85. After a few visits, my attorney suggested that I allow him to send Fyzical a Letter of Protection. This would enable me to pay them after the auto accident was resolved. I agreed. My attorney sent a Letter of Protection to Fyzical and, at my visit, they notified me that I no longer needed to pay out of pocket.

In June of 2021, the auto accident resolved and my attorney contacted Fyzical to settle my bill with them. At that time, I became aware of Fyzical’s unfair, deceptive and fraudulent billing practices. My bill shows that once I began treating as a patient under a Letter of Protection, my rate for the same treatment I had been getting nearly tripled, or even quadrupled, in some cases. My balance should be $1,905 and NOT $5,210.00

At NO TIME during my treatment was I made aware of the rate hike for Letter of Protection patients. I DID NOT AGREE to the price change. There was also no rate information posted anywhere inside the treatment center.

My attorney and his staff tried multiple times to discuss my bill with Fyzical. My attorney even drove to their site one day in an effort to resolve this. Fyzical sent a counteroffer of $3,250.00. This is still more than 50% higher than the amount I agreed to pay for services. Fyzical has remained unresponsive to all additional communications on this topic.

Fyzical has put me in quite a position. Either I pay an amount more than 50% higher than the amount I agreed to pay, or I can look forward to being sent to a collections agency and having my credit rating negatively impacted (and we all know that impacts your car insurance rates, etc.).
