Went in today with insurance was told if I print off benefits they will honor it. So I did went back to do eye exam for contacts and glasses. Waited for my prescription and was told to try on a pair of contacts and pick out the glasses I would want. I had to leave to pick up a family member before I left I asked if they wanted me to take off the contacts they said no they would just throw them away. I get a phone call that I needed to go back and pay the 129 just for the prescription because the exam was done today if not they would sent it to my insurance and I would have to deal with them. About Five minutes the manager calls and leaves a voice mail stating that I needed to go in and pay the 129 and since I walked out with a pair of contacts she was going to notify the Authoritys if I didnt. So I thought to myself now your threatening me. I just couldnt believe it how unprofessional. Ive never had to deal with the law and I dont plan too so I went in and paid it Bad that I had to go through this but thankfully I didnt take my other 3 family members to do their exams. Not to mention the contacts that were given to me have me gave me a bad headache after 10 mins.Stanton Optical

Staff was friendly except girl at front. Didn't see Dr. Just on screen. Then I have medicaid picked out the frames they said was medicaid approved but told Medicaid only covered 300 for eye exam and glasses. So I'm stuck paying 248.50 out of pocket for my glasses. Then I asked for copy of my prescription because I was going to take it somewhere else I was told I would have to pay for the exam if I wanted a copy. And it's 74 dollars. I thought I heard wrong but my mom repeated what the girl said and the girl said yes correct. I'm like why would I pay for the exam if you already billed medicaid and they paid for it already. The girl just smiled and shrugged her shoulders. I've never in all the years I been wearing glasses heard of them not giving a copy of prescription when requested. Then my husband has a rare eye disease and he picked out his Medicaid approved frames and was told Medicaid only will pay for 500.00 dollars including glasses and exam so he's stuck paying 429. Out of his pocket for his glasses. I think they were adding on unnecessary stuff trying to make us think we needed it but I feel it's not needed like glare protection and blind side things. Crazy if possible go somewhere else. So I either have to come up with 64 dollars to pay for eye exam to get copy of my prescription or come up with money to pay out of pocket another doctor to exam my eyesReview fromLarry E

Bad business practice , I had to pay for service ,and I had to repeat my virtual exam twice , and was told they couldn't help me ! Free eye exam and 2 pair of glasses for $79 ! For single frame . Then was told it could cost more depending on my prescription. I was told I had 20/40 vision ,wrong ! I went to America's Best and they had a actual eye ** on hand and she gave me 20/25 vision and free test with 2 pair for $89. So I got it going .never will go back to Stanton bad experience, I am surprised they are still I'm business.Stanton Optical

I took my eye glasses to Stanto optical to have my new prescription prepared on 12.25/24. Three weeks later they delivered to me the incorrect prescription on the glasses. I could not see from them and I took them back. Three weeks later I was given a pair of glasses for which the lens were too small. It is now 75 days later , they have charged me for a service they did not provide and on top of all that stolen the glasses I brought them. Totally unprofessional and dishonest. Beware!!!Stanton Optical

False advertisement, they say 2 pair and eye exam for $79 then I go there my eye exam was extremely rushed. The sign says same day glasses then after the eye exam Im advised it will be 3-5 days for me to receive the glasses. They charged me a tax of $19 on $79 amount over 25%. I asked how much would I owe if I didnt get my glasses there and just paid for the exam they said still $98. Total *** ***, dishonest, and false advertisement. Please do yourself a favor and dont go there.Review fromLarry R

Buyer beware! Though the staff demonstrated friendly service to the customer, there were a myriad of cascading failures: (1) Stanton Opticals email notification that the spectacles are ready for pick up is misleading; after I arrived at the ************, the employee could not locate the spectacle even though it was checked in; (2) Store manager lacked customer service and integrity when he promised to contact me the same day on the whereabouts of the missing spectacles; (3) Store lacked process discipline, accountability and training on how to document, process, and track shipping and receiving of spectacles; and (4) Attention to detail was lacking from the regional manager to the store manager; when the regional manager refunded the cost of two prescription spectacles because his store manager failed to contact me about the missing spectacles, he failed to transcribe the prescription accurately into the Stanton Optical database; after I wore the spectacles, a junior employee discovered the grave error. This junior employee saved me from returning the store for the fourth time because this week the second spectacle were correct. I was satisfied with the junior employees customer service and professionalism. Buyer beware and go elsewhere; save yourself hours and days of frustration and fill your prescriptions at LensCrafters, ****** or at your optometrist.Stanton Optical

Managers were great (until they weren't), I think their names are **** and *******. I went in for an eye exam because they can schedule you quickly. I was told when I arrived that I would have to pay $25 for the exam with my insurance coverage. I had the exam on 1/17/25, with the virtual doctor, got a prescription and ordered glasses and sunglasses with the same frames. I picked up the glasses a day or two later (sunglasses had to be ordered) but the prescription did not work for me. The manager, ****, said that I could do another exam and they would re-make the glasses with that prescription. I had the second exam on 1/27/25, they made those glasses but they didn't work for me either. The manager told me to get a second opinion and they would make the glasses in that prescription. I got a second opinion on 2/7/25 and brought that prescription in to ****. He said he should have them ready the next day. I stopped in the next day, Saturday, and no one could find my glasses. ******* said that she could just make the sunglasses into my glasses because they were going to have to reorder t he sunglasses anyway. She said she would just need a little while and she'd have them ready. We went for lunch and came back. She had them ready but they were the first prescription. I asked if I should come back on Monday and talk to **** but she said I didn't need to, they would be ready. I went in on Monday and my glasses were not done. I asked for a refund so the girl that was helping me had to go get ******* to process the refund. I didn't realize until later that they deducted $69 from the refund for the exam (that was supposed to be $25). This was an extremely frustrating and aggravating experience.Review fromMaria B

****** is the biggest scammers. I called fir an appt. They said they accept my insurance. When I got there I was told they do not accept my insurance. And all the ads on TV does not apply to me, and they have some worthless Techs on screen, who cannot sign off on my prescription. They wanted me to come back and see an Optometrist, pay additional money at which time I will be able to obtain a prescription. It's more like talking to a robot. I had to pay $70 for a stupid eye exam that was conducted by a technician more like a robot.Review fromErica G

Total scam! Extremely misleading advertising about cost, products, and exam. There was not even a live human doctor in the room, they were on a video screen. I had to walk out without glasses and payed ***** for an exam that was not accurate. I need to be able to read a computer screen and phone not read something across the room (i can see well enough). I was told I would need multi-focal lenses that are at a cost in addition to frames. I could have gotten a free exam with my insurance at a normal ophthalmologist then paid for glasses as I normally do. I went to Stanton because of what they advertised (exam and 2 pairs of glasses for a low price). This place should not be in business. How can it be legal to rip people off while providing inaccurate service and products? I am shocked, disgusted, and livid.Review fromDavid F

I went to the ************* store and they told me on the phone that they take my insurance. Once there I was charged ****** for frames because apparently they don't take my insurance. Also the girl who helped me name is ******* was very rude and threw away my old glasses. I wanted those glasses. Stanton optical is scamming to get people in the door, then overcharging people.
